Great result. Be a fair bit of drinking in Glasgow tonight! Although to be fair, I'm not sure the result has altered that outcome much! lol

Fair play to Celtic. 3 attempts on goal to Barca's 25, and they win 2-1. Clinical stuff.

I think Celtic, and to an extent Chelsea last year have shown that there is a blueprint to beat this Barca side. Okay, you need a lot of luck, granted, but if you can defend deep on your 18 yard box, and be disciplined - you can stifle this Barca team. Not great for the neutral, but it's the most effective way of playing them.

Barca are blessed with the best footballers on the planet, but their play is actually becoming predictable and one dimensional, and I think teams are starting to wisen up to it. It's the same patterns of play - look for the one two, or the give and go on the edge of the box centrally, and if it's not available, then play the ball wide, and probe around the side of the box. Rinse and repeat. There's no forwards in their squad who are dominant in the air. There's no alternative to the way they play. It's dogmatic and a celebrated style of play, but it now seems there's a way to repel it.

And we saw the vulnerability of Barca in the air without Puyol and Pique. Great ball in from Mulgrew for the first, and Jordi Alba didn't know how to cope with it. Second goal is a poor error from Xavi, and Watt showed excellent composure for a teenager.

Excellent result for Celtic which leaves them on the cusp of qualifying, but it now seems clear that Barca's formula is showing signs of being dated, and perhaps they should have invested in a Falcao/Llorente over the summer. There's no Plan B at the moment with this 4-6-0 formation that they use.

...and the sentimental, long-term fanatical fan award went to Rod Stewart!
But he didn't want to talk about it.

No, have not seen it yet. It starts in 3 hours -- 5:00am. -- (After the Fed. V. Fer. match) but after seeing the unplanned crossover from the darkened Man. U. match to Parkhead at 1--0, I didn't have the will power to resist checking out the final score and our evening news, featuring the UK's teams European victories, have been most focused on the clip of auld Rod.

1-6 at home. 6 games without a win.

F**k off Bates you f**king cretin.

How many more humiliating hammerings do we have to take at home before he ***** off? We've broken the record for goals conceded at home about 5 times in the last 3 seasons.
