Button strikes in qualies again. But since he is well known for squandering good positions in qualies, I am not that glad.
But this time it is special, because this time he got POLE POSITION!!!
1. Jenson Button (GB) Honda, one minute, 25.229 seconds
2. Giancarlo Fisichella (Ita) Renault, 1:25.635
3. Fernando Alonso (Spa) Renault, 1:25.778
4. Kimi Raikkonen (Fin) McLaren-Mercedes, 1:25.822
5. Juan Pablo Montoya (Col) McLaren-Mercedes, 1:25.976
6. Ralf Schumacher (Ger) Toyota, 1:26.612
7. Mark Webber (Aus) Williams-Cosworth, 1:2638.937
8. Nick Heidfeld (Ger) BMW Sauber, 1:27.579
9. Jacques Villeneuve (Can) BMW Sauber, 1:29.239+
10. Jarno Trulli (Ita) Toyota, no time
11. Michael Schumacher (Ger) Ferrari, 1:26.718*
12. David Coulthard (GB) Red Bull-Ferrari, 1:27.023*
13. Vitantonio Liuzzi (Ita) Toro Rosso-Cosworth, 1:27.219*
14. Christian Klien (Aut) Red Bull-Ferrari, 1:27.591*
15. Nico Rosberg (Ger) Williams-Cosworth, 1:29.422*
16. Felipe Massa (Brz) Ferrari, no time.*
17. Rubens Barrichello (Brz) Honda, 129.943.**
18. Christijan Albers (Ned) Midland-Toyota, 1:30.226.**
19. Scott Speed (US) Toro Rosso-Cosworth 1:30.426.**
20. Tiego Monteiro (Por) Midland-Toyota, 1:30.709.**
21. Takuma Sato (Jpn) Super Aguri-Honda 1:21.279.**
22. Yuji Ide (Jpn) Super Aguri-Honda 1:36.164.**
So its Button followed by the two Renaults. Lets face it, Renault is far far better than Honda. So the only way Button can win his first race is having an early lead. Last time in the Canadian GP, he had a pole and failed to take an early lead. Afterwards he had to retire with a crash. The only hope is an early lead because Honda seem pretty amateurish when it comes to pits.

POLE POSITION.. kick ass Jenson!
I think even though Renault are obviously better, if the start's good and everything runs well, may be a British winner!!!
Nice to see Kimi up there aswell

Dont say go Button, say go Honda. I think they need it much more than him.

Have you guys gone nuts???????? Do you think I dont support Jenson???? Are you guys crazy or what????
I meant that Button is a sufficintly capable driver and it is his team who need a moral boost. And you people think I support Honda ahead of Button. Now honestly, how can I not support a Brit???

So it was the usual happening. Jenson great as usual in qualies but owing to a car that deserves a pat on the back for coming even third, Jenson goes another race without a win.
1. Fernando Alonso (Spa) Renault one hour 34 minutes 27.870 seconds
2. Kimi Raikkonen (Fin) McLaren-Mercedes +1.829 seconds
3. Ralf Schumacher (Ger) Toyota +24.824secs
4. Nick Heidfeld (Ger) BMW Sauber 31.032
5. Giancarlo Fisichella (Ita) Renault 38.421
6. Jacques Villeneuve (Can) BMW Sauber 49.554
7. Rubens Barrichello (Brz) Honda 51.904
8. Scott Speed (US) Toro Rosso-Cosworth 53.817
9. David Coulthard (GB) RedBull-Ferrari 53.983
10R. Jenson Button (GB) Honda 1 lap
11. Christijan Albers (Ned) Midland-Toyota 1 lap
12. Takuma Sato (Jpn) Super Aguri-Honda 2 laps
13. Yuji Ide (Jpn) Super Aguri-Honda 3 laps
R Juan Pablo Montoya (Col) McLaren-Mercedes 11 laps
R Tiago Monteiro (Por) Midland-Toyota 18 laps
R Vitantonio Liuzzi (Ita) Toro Rosso-Cosworth 20 laps
R Michael Schumacher (Ger) Ferrari 25 laps
R Mark Webber (Aus) Williams-Cosworth 35 laps
R Christian Klien (Aut) RedBull-Ferrari 53 laps
R Jarno Trulli (Ita) Toyota 57 laps
R Nico Rosberg (Ger) Williams-Cosworth 57 laps
R Felipe Massa (Brazil) Ferrari 57 laps
I am surprised that Button did not get a podium. But a mixture of bad luck in safety car periods and the usual horrible pit stops left him fighting for 5th along with Fisichella. Button drove brilliantly to hold a superior Renault at bay for quite some time. Then it happened..... Around 50 metres, a mere 50 metres or so before the finish line Jenson's car caught fire. I have never felt worse about F1. A determined Button still tried for a finish but the car refused and Fisichella and others crossed him. A real anticlimax as he was supposed to win this race.
Strangely this is the second straight time that JB has finished on pole and not finished the race.

Im glad Micheal crashed becuase i dont think he deserved any points in that race his driving was awful.. he made so many driving errors

Yep, this is the most exciting race for quite a few years. A JB win would make it even more exciting though.
