Hamilton should have polished Maldonado's face after that.

I always get angry in the heat of the moment. But that was one of the most frustrating moments I've seen in F1 following Hamilton. Last lap, on for a podium, then 15 points snatched away from him because one particular driver who I already disliked crashes into him (and then cheeky twat carried and still managed to get a point!). Maldonado has definitely taken the mantle of my least-favourite driver in F1, and I expect I won't be the only one after yesterday.

Maldonado was penalised 20 seconds which puts him behind Senna and out of the points.

Great. Unfortunately this doesn't help Lewis whatsoever.

(Not getting at you mate, just the shite penalty system).

Maldonado will end up killing someone. Infact, he almost did:

Oh - and he was also banned for four races for crashing into and seriously injuring a marshal at the scene of an accident. He seems to like using his car as a weapon.

Off topic.. but still on crashes. I've seen a lot of crashes over the years, but this one always sticks in my mind. Was a big Coulthard fan.
Later in the clip it shows it in slo'mo'.. just incredible how Wurtz narrowly escaped something dire.
Always thought it would be a good freeze-frame pic for "Redbull gives you wings."

That's horrible to watch. :/

^That's racing, pal. Unbelievably close, and that's why it's always stuck in my mind.
Thanks gawd it's so much safer nowadays. Wish Senna was still here.

I remember Schumacher had a similar incident in Brazil in his first season back. Went spinning and another car came flying over the top of him. Don't think it was quite as close but still quite alarming when you watch the replay.

Webber's horrific crash in Valencia two years ago is testament to how safe F1 is these days. I remember going all cold at the time, I was sure he must have been killed. Incredibly he was completely unharmed.

It must have been hard for Coulthard with that giant chin hampering his visibility.
