Can't wait. Won't be the same though. Gutted Di Resta got passed over for Perez as well (I know it's old news, but still).

Lots of new names in F1 this year. No Kobayashi, Kovalainen, Petrov, Senna or Glock this year, whilst Schumacher has re-retired. Gutted about Kobayashi, easily one of my favourite drivers. Kovalainen a really likeable guy as well, harsh on him (from McLaren to free agent in four years). HRT have disbanded (not really a surprise) and there will be no European GP (instead Valencia and Catalunya will now alternate).

New drivers are Esteban Gutierrez (Mexico, Sauber), Valleri Bottas (Finland, Williams), Giedo Van der Gaard (Holland, Caterham), Jules Bianchi (France, Marussia) and Max Chilton (British, Marussia) - whilst Adrian Sutil makes a return to Force India.

Other driver changes are Hamilton to Mercedes, Perez to McLaren and Hulkenberg to Sauber.

Driver breakdown is 4x Germans, 4x Brits, 4x French (yet no French GP), 2x Aussies, 2x Finns, 2x Mexicans, 1x Brazilian, 1x Spaniard, 1x Venezuelan, 1x Dutch.

Interesting that Britain now has the most teams and equal most drivers in the sport! Germans used to have about six or seven drivers, now there is only Vettel, Rosberg, Hulkenberg and Sutil.

Yawn.

This is going to be yet another tedious-finished-by-September-season isn't it?

Pathetic tire decision by Mercedes. At least Jenson managed to get his super-softs on in time.. while Perez had to stay out on the inters. Ahtough they didn't help Jenson, out first on track and starts in 10th. That speaks loudly about the car.

Di Resta must be laughing up his leather sleeve. Decent grid start for him btw.

Fantastic debut for Lewis Hamilton.

Kimi needs his eyes tested. I guess he didn't notice the jack he ran over when exiting his pit.

Here's hoping the rain stays off. That's one slippery road-track.

Sooo excited! I always suffer withdrawal symtoms at the end of the season. Tennis and F1 are my two big loves, though I often watch footie just to keep my hubby company! Interesting that Paddy Lowe has gone over to Mercedes with Lewis, though he won't be allowed to do anything 'techy' till next year!

Lotus and Ferrari impressive, Raikkonen looked very good. He'll be a serious contender this year with Alonso and Vettel. Red Bull surprisingly off the pace, Mercedes really disappointing, just weren't on it at all today. McLaren poor. Decent effort from Force India, coming 7th and 8th. Shame about Sutil's tires, he drove a great race.

Kimi!!
Finishes 12 secs ahead of Alonso.. and 22 secs ahead of Vettel. lmao

Decent finish for Lewis, all things considered.

Congrats to Jenson for breaking the 1000 points.

McLaren better get back to the drawing board.

Strange strategy calls by Merc, but the car looks very quick and showed similar race pace to Ferrari and Red Bull. Lotus in a world of it's own with tire wear; could just be a fluke caused by the very cold conditions.

Lewis must be laughing his head off at McLaren.

Oh Vettel. It's clear Webber hates his guts.

Di Resta and Button both have their races wrecked by their teams. McLaren's pit crew at it again.

Hamilton would have had a serious chance at winning the race if not for the bloody fuel, was 2nd and flying. Feel a bit for Rosberg at the end, I think it's clear who the #1 is there now and Rosberg isn't happy.

Vettel defies team orders, Webber under the impression that they were holding position. Horner clearly peeved off.

Feel sorry for Webber. He's obeyed team orders to help his spoilt brat team-mate of multiple occasions.

Very encouraged by Merc's pace.
