Harrington has cancer operation
Padraig Harrington has revealed that he had surgery three weeks ago to remove a skin cancer spot on his forehead.
Harrington spoke about the operation after firing a 66 to take the first-round lead at the Wachovia Championship in North Carolina.

"I had about a square inch of skin taken out with some roots and all that sort of stuff," said the Dubliner.

"It was only a sun spot. I'm told it's like the third form of skin cancer. It was not a melanoma."

Graeme McDowell fears the US Tour is trying to "steal" Europe's top players with events such as this week's Irish Open suffering as a result.
Padraig Harrington and Lee Westwood are the only members of the world's top 50 in action at Adare Manor this week.

Other notable absentees include Colin Montgomerie and Paul Casey.

"They do have money to offer, they do have TV, they do have the stars, they do have Tiger Woods," said McDowell, who lost his US Tour card last year.

Only six of the top 20 on last year's European Order of Merit are playing at the Limerick venue with the likes of Sergio Garcia and Luke Donald also absent.

With Darren Clarke also missing with a hamstring injury the field is considerably weaker than in previous years, and McDowell feels the new FedEx Cup in the States is having a major effect.

Anders Hansen won in a play-off against Justin Rose after both of them finished at -8. It rained for most of the day and any number of players could have won.
The best round of the day was by Vijay Singh who shot a -6 (66). shocking

Dont think I posted this before, but it was the womens European PGA tour over here last month. I was able to watch a bit of it from my roof, but I'm not a huge fan of golf! There were big crowds and loads of cameras about and it was nightmare trying to get into my complex!

Laura Davies was the only one I recognised but quite a few of them came into my local bar to watch the football!
