Kaymer with a brilliant putt to level it up. Europe v's USA 7 weeks away, could we see this as a match up at Celtic Manor. Poor drive on 18 though. Watson in the water, Kaymer must win this now.

Scottish Open Champion in 08 - Graeme McDowell Scottish Open Champion in 09 - Martin Kaymer
Both Major Winners this year. The first time since 1999 (Olazabal and Lawrie) that two different European players have won majors in the same year. Harrington won the Open Championship and the USPGA in 08. Both years Europe lost the Ryder Cup, hopefully not an omen this time round.

Well deserved. Been absolutely awesome in the last 3 years. So unlucky not to have won a major, he's been 2nd or 3rd about 5 or 6 times in the last 3 years alone and had putts for a playoff more than once at the 72nd hole. Been my favourite player for a long time so really hope he can finally grab one. Still young enough that he should hopefully get another chance in the next 2 or 3 years.
Not been in this thread for a while. Thoroughly enjoyed the Ryder Cup. By coincidence I happened to be home from work very ill that week so was able to watch the whole thing.

I must admit that I hate golf, but was caught up in the final day's play

I have trouble with the Ryder Cup. My issue is with supporting an entire continent. Where does it end? Earth vs Mars? The Milky Way vs Andromeda?

As a Eurosceptic Tory boy, you just don't like those dastardly Europeans. Happy enough to retreat there once you've had enough of dear old Blighty though.

I love Europeans and love Europe. I never feel more at home than when I'm in continental Europe. It's this kakhole I can't stand. My issue is with supporting something so vast. Just don't get really get it.

FWIW, I agree with you on the first point. As for the golf point and supporting an entire continent - it's about attaching yourself to the most relevant team isn't it? I'm European, I support Europe. I'm English, I support England. I'm British, I support GB. I was raised in Somerset, I support Somerset Country Cricket Club.

This dimension versus the Dimension X. Tentacled mutants are still only allowed two 'hands' on the club.

You could join in, but pointless little oiks aren't allowed to play golf under inter-dimensional rules. It's like apartheid all over again.
