So it begins......

Paraguay qualified after finishing fourth in South America, so they are not that difficult a task. And they lack stars apart from Roque Santa Cruz. Wonder what will happen, but I'll go for a 3-0 win. I believe that Becks and Crouch will be the ones shining.

It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming, football's coming home!
3 Lions on a shirt, Jules Rimet still gleaming. No more years of hurt, no more need for dreaming!

COME ON!

I'm tired already, no idea what I'll be like at 1am when the game kicks off. Gonna be a struggle, but oh well. Has to be done.
Just taking a few minutes break from the book, been studying for the last couple of hours (you know you are in trouble when you look at last year's exam for the subject and can't do half of it...). Too much to do with too little time. Stupidly watched both games this morning before going to my own football in the afternoon (which we won in a 4-3 thriller Smile), so didn't get any study done during the day and I have an exam on Monday and 1 on Tuesday. Bloody uni scheduling exams during the World Cup.....

As for a prediction, we are notoriously bad starters at these tournaments. Got a feeling it will be a draw, but what the hell? Let's be optimistic and say 2-1 for us. Gerrard and Crouch.
Cannot afford to lose. I would say Poland are all but out already after their loss, given that they have Germany in their next game and in all likelihood it will be 2 losses from 2. If we lose this one, we may be in a similar situation. Draw wouldn't be great, but not bad. Just cannot lose it if we want to go through. Really don't want to have to go into that last game against Sweden needing a win to progress.

Well, I'm off for a couple of hours sleep  Wink and then I shall be up to listen to the match but we have got a link to try out for streaming - don't know if it'll work but prepared to give it a try.

I predict a 2-0 win for ENGLAND.

Couldn't find a pub to go to?

Good luck with the streaming. I have never had much success with them. Only managed to get it to work once. Hope you get it to work.

So far so good. But we are not playing particularly well. We need to step it up a gear in the 2nd half.
Have to feel sorry for the Paraguay keeper though. His world cup is probably over after 5 minutes.

Nope!

Streaming not working either!  Have seen Becks with the ball a couple of times and that's about it!  Can't even listen to it live on Radio FiveLive because of some contractual reasons  ranting ranting ranting ranting ranting ranting ranting

I'm back off to bed now!

Enjoy the game!  Will catch the high lights on tv in the morning.

Feel really sad for you Bev. hug hug

Not the best possible result I know, but this should rest Alex's fears that England will go out in the group stages.

Beckham was really good today. woohoo
