(Before you explode, No Arka, I'm not being serious)

Hmmm..... I must say that I like the fact that you are being more optimistic than before. Very Happy

What I really wonder about is why people are so pessimistic.

This has been going on for ages.... we lost against Denmark and N.Ireland and people began to say that we wont go through.... then they said that they would not go through to the group stages..... they said that they would lose against/draw with Paraguay.... draw against T&T.... and what not.

Whats the logic behind all this? Come on! This is England we are speaking of, a team which boasts over five international players. How on earth can you possibly not qualify from a group which has Paraguay and T&T? roflmao

At times the pessimism is ridiculous. I know that no one can confidently say that 'We'll win the Cup', but there are five or six teams out there who can do it and England is certainly one of them.

We have played two matches and won both. I dont remember when was the last time we won both of our first two matches and we have not won our first match for ages. And not forgetting that we have qualified with a match to spare, something which has not happened for six world cups!

At this moment a victory parade in Berlin looks very much possible.

 confused
Don't every team "boast over 5 international players"? Everyone has 23 of them to be precise.

I meant international standard. wink

We have Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Owen (if he gains form), Rooney and Cole.

"World Class" is the term you are looking for, although it's debateable what 'world class' actually means, and who exactly is 'world class' is subjective.

Nope, I said what I wanted. Very Happy

All such terms are dubious. wink

So you are saying we have only 5 players in a squad of 23 who are good enough to play international football (ie, international standard)?

Hmmm...now you twist my words. wink

I mean that we have five-six players who are good enough to make a big impact on the international stage. Not many teams have that many. no

If at first you don't succeed, you fail.

and not every team has world class players or even international players... look at saudi arabia's team... they all play domestically.

It depends which way you take it.... personally I feel that taking six points even when you are not playing well shows a lot of depth and maturity. Very Happy

did u watch the watches ??? and also did you see the teams ??  shocking... i mean T+T are the smallest world cup nation and they managed to trouble England. I really dont think we have the ability to win if we are trouble by them and i see teams like Spain , Argentina  and some others play in the form they are at .

there is nothing more i would love to see than england winning the world cup.( well a few things)  i just dont think it will be this year, and we dont deserve to win it this year the way we are playing
