Touch the sky - and touch it he did.

Must admit I didn't watch the whole ceremony as not really my kind of thing but was so pleased they 'included' Lennon and Imagine was so appropriate. Have recorded the last hour or so and will watch bits of it later.

I think I'm in love with her. And Laura Trott.

Emeli Sand's career deserves to be over after she ruined the closing ceremony.
What professional singer can't sing a single bloody note in tune? Oh, I suppose that's probably most of them with the technology they have these days.

Agreed, she was absolutely terrible. George Michael's plug of his single was also nauseating.

I honestly think most of the population are deaf in this regard.

Sande was embarrassing. She's like a lot of modern singers - can't actually sing in tune, so puts a lot of wibbly inflection and tricks into her voice to make it sound like she's a great singer. The younger generation love it. Idiots.

Apart from a couple of all too brief moments the closing ceremony was s***e. Don't think u can blame a couple of performers. johnj: this is Britain 2012, we should not be being "nostalgic." Most of those performers, with the noble exception of Brian May, were well past their sell by date. As was our national treasure Sir Paul who was awful at the opening. Danny Boyle gave us history but also gave us modernity.
