I am so glad to have to eat my words - well played Scotland!!!

I am not a separatist but why, oh why, do England insist on using 'God Save the Queen' as their anthem?  It is the anthem of GB & NI not England and it really irks me every time I hear it used in this context.

Excellent match England v Ireland too. All to play for now!
@Alis
While I agree with you, I don't like "God Save..." anyway. It belongs to another age. There's a wonderful song by Kate Bush that is both sad and patriotic without being in the least jingoistic.
Wales has got the best song TBH....not biased in the least... Whistle

I would agree that Wales has the best song and the Welsh sing it very well.  Nothing like a Welsh crowd singing 'Land of My Fathers' to bring out the goosebumps.

The Kate Bush song is called, "Oh England My Lionheart." Perfect as a rugby anthem!

England don't have an official anthem apparently. The English team will use Jerusalem at the commonwealth games.

This sketch comes to mind :-)

@invisible
Posters on the blogs are euphoric..."second coming" etc. I'm not so sure. It was very, very close and Sexton had a mare. Think he suffered a knock on his head early on.
Farrel should've been off or yellowed at the very least.
Can't stand him, or Phillips. for the same reason.

"Second coming" may be a bit much but it was a very good solid win against the team most had tipped to go pretty close to a Grand Slam. You can keep writing it off when we win, that's fine. Smile

Farrell should have been sin binned for that late charge, was susrprised he wasn't. Think O'Driscoll has dragged it on for a couple of a years too long to be honest.

A great win for Ireland today! A really emotional last home match for Brian O'Driscoll  . It was lovely to see the tributes to him- so deserved,and a fitting way for things to end for him.

And how the heck did Scotland manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?
Unbelievable.
Found Andrew Cotton really annoying too.

I cannot believe Scotland lost that match - what wouldn't they give for a kicker.  Bring back Chris Patterson I say!

Really enjoyed that. Great win over Wales in a really non-traditional England way with exciting backline play. Absolutely outplayed and out-thought them and only Halfpenny's flawless kicking kept them anywhere close. Never gave them a chance of a try.

Can't remmeber a game where both of our wingers had as much ball and made as many strong runs as that. Such a shame Halfpenny stopped Burrell in the corner as that would have been probably the best England try I'd ever seen. Halfpenny is a really wonderful player.

So blueberryhill, how do we downplay this one this time?
