Nah, never really been that interested in it. I follow England and the Lions , but other than that not really much interested in rugby.
Its a pretty terrible game to watch live, I ended up having to look at the big screen for most of that  match to see what was going on. When the play was on the opposite side of the pitch to where we were, it was impossible to see anything.

Hey, I will spout forth some rugby wisdom now. Basically in international rugby you will find it very similar to cricket in as much as there are a small number of teams who are miles better than the rest. They are genrally split into Southern and Northern Hemisphere Sides. These include New Zealand, Australia and South Africa who have an annual event called the tri-nations and are the strongest Southern Hemisphere sides. Other SH teams are Argentina, Fiji, Western Samoa, and Tonga In the Northern Hemisphere you obv have the Six Nations who are Scotland, Wales, Ireland (Eire and Northern Ireland play as one team), England, France and Italy. You also have Romania, Canada, US and Japan. Out of these the Tri-Nations and Six Nations are by far the strongest sides although Argentina are also very good and are prob better than Italy. Atm the TN teams prob have the edge over the 6N teams and quite honestly the All Blacks (NZ's National side) first two or three teams are prob better than any other team in the world. I would say Wales have their best side right now for at least 20 years or so and if they can stop all the infighting then on their day they can beat anyone with the exception of NZ.
A lot of the problems which the 6N sides have been suffering in recent years have ben due to the proffesionalisation of the game. Rugby wsa seen as an amateur game up until about 15 years ago and the NH leagues seem to have struggled to adapt more than the SH ones. Generally what has happened is that where previously there was in every country leagues set up similarly to football, ie with various teams from differnt towns etc, various pro-teams emerged (with between 3 (in Scotland) and 5 (in SA and NZ)) [ignore England for the moment as it's a bit of an anomaly]. In the SH you now have the Super 14 which is contested between pro teams from the Tri-Nations countries and in the NH you have the Celtic League as has alreeady been explained by someone else. However thse teams don't have much history and so have suffered from a lack of public enthusiasm with dwindling attendances. I believe the Super 14 has definitely turened itself around and id now quite succesful but the Celtic League is in horrible financial problems and is basically a complete shmables. In England they do have a league more similar to football or cricket with prmotion and relegation from the lower tiers and it has recently been a bit more succesful (in the Super 14 and CL the teams stay the same year after year). In Europe the have the Heiniken Cup and European Shield which are like the Champions League and UEFA cup of Rugby. Hope that makes sense as it doesnt really seem to follow any logical order, if you have any more questions just ask.
