The super 14 contest reached it's climax the other week with the Hurricaines (Tana Umaga's team (old AB captain)) v The Crusaders (Richie McCaw's team (new captain)) with the Crusaders as victors. Wasn't a particularly good game as played in mostly fog in Christchurch. Good job it wasn't this week as under snow!
The Tri-Nations begins on July 8 in Christchurch with New Zealand v Australia and goes on through until September. Then the AB's have and end of year tour in the northern hemisphere, commencing with the match against England on November 5th. According to one of the newspapers here, 'the extra test against England at Twickenham in November will reap the NZRU more dollars than all of this year's domestic All Black tests rolled together.' The NZRU is cash starved!

Yeah the fog was crazy for that Super 14 final. Was the only game I "watched" any of all season, but you couldn't really watch it. It was just a white screen on the TV. I went out to a party at half time so listened to the 2nd half in the car. Probably saw as much as I did in the 1st half tbh.

Yes, I heard that loads of people left the stadium because of the fog and to watch it on tv! I have a photo in my program I picked up on Saturday and it's mostly fog. The guys behind us were making comments about the fog - my hubby wondered what they were on about.
There was more fuss afterwards wasn't there with the 'handbag' incident!

Heh, yeah.
Bit of a shame Umaga didn't play in the Ireland match. Was looking forward to O'Driscoll and him getting the handbags out over the Lions incident.

To quote one of the guys behind me 'put that in your next book Brian!' That would have been at least a chapter!

You would think they would make plenty of money from shirt sales. Wish I could see any domestic rugby on TV but alas we can't see CL, S14, HC or even GP (unless you have Sky presumably).

I don't get to see it here either unless I have Sky! Although I think the Ireland v All Blacks match on Saturday is on a free to view channel, it's just that we don't get that channel where we are - bad reception

What channel is that? Usually its on channel 3. I can't believe there's anywhere that can't get channel 1, 2 or 3 as they are the major channels.
It will be delayed anyway. Live on Sky, delayed on 3 usually. Channel 4 and Prime, the minor free are hard to get everywhere, 4 is poxy where we live and we can only get good reception on Prime through sky digital (you can watch the free channels through sky too). In fact, channel 1 is terrible for us. Not sure if its a problem with our ariel or what it is, but its terrible. Fantastic, perfect picture if you watch it through sky digital, but watching it through channel 1 is near unwatchable.

Not really considering the team we took. I'm suprised we didn't lose by double that. Was a similar sort of squad to the "Tour from Hell" one of about 7 or 8 years ago when we lost 70 odd nil to Australia. Mike Catt ffs. He must be older than Teddy Sheringham. He was old and long past it at the world cup 3 years ago.
Rather be whipped by Australia than Argentina tbh. Ireland are off to Australia now, I think they will give the Aussies a good game.

Apparently Scotland were the better team by a long way and should have won.

Pool Three: Sale, Stade Francais, Calvisano, Ospreys
Pool Four: Cardiff, Bourgoin, Leicester, Munster

Why on earth are you supporting Cardiff if you don't even know anything about them?
(I'll be supporting Blues/ Scarlets
)
