Bruising stuff in appalling conditions, but an enthralling match nevertheless. Well done England but Ireland were a bit unlucky to lose.

That was one amazing try though that Fofana scored. Still - France for the wooden spoon!
Scotland vs Ireland tomorrow should be interesting provided we don't fall asleep on the job. However I've considerably more faith in Scott Johnson than I ever had in Robinson. Waste of space.

Well, do we classify that as a choke by the Irish? Not sure what to make of it...

Where were the tries this time, Scotland? I didn't watch the match but from what I've heard from those who did, it seems we got a bit lucky, Still a win is a win, so I'm not really complaining.

Very lucky.
Put it this way, if I was Irish tonight, I would be furious.
Still, back-to-back wins, nice to see us in the top half of the standings for a change.

I am sure if it was England they would say the best team won. They would say a win is a win especially that Brain Moore I have never heard him say England was lucky to win. Come back Bill McLaren at least you were fair.

Having watched extended highlights, Ireland could have won this match several times over. They seemed to be almost permanently near the tryline and it was only robust Scotland defending that prevented them from scoring. I'm sure though that Scott Johnson will have something to say about our team's absence of even one try. Dependence on penalty scoring for a win isn't good rugby. However Johnson did say in a post-match interview that he thought Scotland played with courage and spirit, and that he like that, so at least that's one positive.

Not seen the match but heard the possession stats were about 70/30 in favour of Ireland. Something not quite right with Ireland at the moment (thought this when they played England) but a win is a win, so well done Scotland.

^ According to the Beeb, Ireland had 78% of possession and 80% of territory in the first half, yet only managed a 3-0 lead at the break, despite Scotland being down to 14 men when prop Ryan Grant was sent to the sin bin. An unconverted try extended that to 8-0 shortly after the start of the 2nd half. Ireland's cause though wasn't helped by new-boy Jackson's inaccurate kicking.
