Good games last night. Don't know how South Africa didn't win. The ball never got out of Australia's half all game. Think the All Blacks will smash Australia next weekend.
Probably just as well we lost as we probably would've got thrashed by Wales with they way they are playing. Still very disappointing having gone though. The misery fully hit me when I was on the plane back last night and I had nothing else to do as it was taking off, almost felt like tears! Think it was the realisation I wasn't going to be getting back on a plane next weekend for a semi final and also that it will be a while till I next see the family again.
Still glad I went. My Mum kept saying "you must regret spending all that money now," but you can't think like that. It was a World Cup quarter final with your team in it, probably the only chance you get to see that in your lifetime so you can't regret it just because they lost, that's just sport. Would still go again every time.
Anyway looking like a repeat of the 87 final with a comfortable NZ victory over France. Interesting it's the same 4 semi finalists from that tournament in NZ too (although it was NZ-Wales and France-Australia that time).

Hmmm my Ashton top try scorer bet is still live but surely there's not much chance of it coming through is there?
He's on 6, tied with Clerc (they pay out for a tie), with Israel Dagg and Adam Ashley-Cooper on 5. Surely one of those 3 will get to 7 from 2 games won't they? Then again tries may be at a premium from here, and whoever is on the losing side may not play in the bronze final as they usually tend to play all the guys who haven't had much chance.....

Couple of other pieces of interesting trivia.
Only 1 of the 4 semi finalists (France) was in the semis last time! That's absolutely unbelievable for a sport in which upsets virtually never happen.
Also, in every World Cup so far, the defending champions have lost to the eventual winners. Only once has it not been in the knockout stage - in 1995 England knocked Australia out in the quarter final but South Africa (who went onto win) beat Australia in the group stage. This time around Australia have beaten the defending champions South Africa. Come on Australia on Sunday!

Come on, Wales!
EDIT
What a stupid tackle by Wales. They were all over France and then gifted them probably the finals.

Was the Warbuton tackle a red card offence? My Kiwi commentators say not. Wales. Excellent trivia Alex

They say yellow at the least but they had the hindsight of video reply. Very hard luck Wales - you fought to the very end

Gutted!! Ref made a horrible decision and France were able to just hold on because of it. Wales played their hearts out and did amazingly and based on perfomance SHOULD be on their way to the final. There is no way that was a red card offence and Roland should have the book thrown at him for that one!

I don't know, it was a really ugly challenge, albeit wales had those two kicks at the end, should have scored.
