Well he left Monty and Darren Clarke at home, why should we be surprised?

Then again, who was our only winner on day 1? Yep, Poulter.
Just doesn't make sense to leave out Westwood however. He was one of the best on day 1 and is still unbeaten. Hasn't been beaten for a long time. If anyone deserved to be left out on day 1 performance it was Harrington.

Do you think the 'home crowd' was getting to them? Alas, I can't comment too much as I haven't really seen much coverage.

Not really, they just didn't play all that well. But having said that, I only got to see the first and last 2 hours as I was out all day at tennis. Hopefully watch the whole thing tomorrow. That Boo Weekley guy seems a ****** though.

That Boo Weekley guy seems a w**ker though.
I get that impression from a lot of American men unfortunately

Oh I disagree so much! Majors are very exciting.
The last 2 have been really amazing. Padriag comebacks, etc.

Well, he left out Westwood because of blisters, no?
Anyway, not too bad today, although it could have been much better. It means we need a minimum of 7-5 tomorrow, which is gettable. Europe does have the stronger squad in depth, and have done well in the singles the last 3 cups (although in those they did well throughout the 3 days). I have a feeling it'll come down to the order the players are sent out.

It was a thrilling day of golf! And I am feeling confident in Europe's chances tomorrow!
Padraig has to improve though, but I beleive in him.

Oh man. Just watched the entire day. Sat in front of the TV from 8-5.
Need to win the singles 7-5. Not impossible, but really could have done with Karlsson's putt at the last hole going in.

Singles order:
Kim vs Garcia
Mahan vs Casey
Leonard vs Karlsson
Mickelson vs Rose
Perry vs Stenson
Weekley vs Wilson
Holmes vs Hansen
Furyk vs Jimenez
Cink vs McDowell
Stricker vs Poulter
Curtis vs Westwood
Campbell vs Harrington
Big gamble from Faldo putting our best 3 players last. It could all be over before they have a chance to influence things. I think I would have started with Poulter tbh. He's been our best so I would certainly have had him out as early as possible to get off to a good start. It's certainly possible to get 7 points out of those matches but I would have been banking on 3 of them coming from those last 3 players so would have had them all much earlier. Going to be another tense and exciting day.
