Oh, don't know anything about Joyce.
Pieterson got disillusioned with the quota system in South Africa, constantly being overlooked in favour of inferior black players based on ethnicity rather than than ability, so went to England and I believed waited his 3 years to get citizenship.

Ed Joyce, 28, born in Dublin, plays his County cricket for Middlesex, and only qualified to play for 'The England & Wales Cricket' team last year, averages 47 in first-class cricket and has 17 centuries to his credit, including a highest score of 211 for Middlesex against Warwickshire in July. He has played 3 ODIs and a 20Twenty for England.....

Any home nations player can play though, as Scots Mike Denness and Gavin Hamilton have both played for England...

Get him straight in....he says he's not going to be intimidated by the Aussies  clap

yes Mostly what I'd read about him.  Embarassed Sorry, not heard of the Scots players.

But why call it England & Wales when any home nation player can play for the team?  confused

I think Trescothick's international test career is probably over and Australia's test squad is set to be named at 2am GMT.

Tis really sad about Marcus but he has to get himself right, that's the important thing.

Great to see that Warnie has been picked!  Out of all the Aussies, I actually like to see him play  wub  Whistle

It's almost arrived.
I was about to get back into my assumed role of 'MW Fantasy Sport League Organiser' lol but thought I should check who would be interested first. Have found a few different games around. All the usual thing, pick a team of 11 and you get points for runs, wickets, catches etc. So who would be interested in a Fantasy Ashes league? Let me know here as soon as possible then I'll pick the best looking site and set up a league. Just wanna make sure there's a few of us so I don't end up setting one up and then having only Arka and myself.

Ok done.
Register and in the box under "I was invited by someone to enter their Private League!" type in the code I will PM you to join the league. State your interest here or PM me if you want it.

Select a team of 11 players. You can't have more than 6 from the same country, which means you will have to have 6 from one, and 5 from the other. You have to pick 5 from a list of batsmen, 1 all rounder, 1 wicket keeper and 4 bowlers. Pick one to be your "captain" who earns double points.
You can make a maximum 8 transfers during the competition. There are 4 transfer periods (between the 1st and 2nd test, between 2nd and 3rd, between 3rd and 4th and between 4th and 5th) and you can make a maximum of 2 swaps in each period.

Points as follows:
1 point per run scored
-20 for a duck (excluding bowlers)
20 bonus points for a player scoring 100+
10 bonus points for a player scoring 50+
20 points per wicket taken
20 points for bolwer economy rate of less than 2.0 runs per over
12 points for bowler economy rate between 2.01 and 3.0 runs per over
12 points per catch
15 points per runout (all players involved - ie, the thrower and the keeper)
15 points per stumping (keeper only of course)

Disappointed Collingwood is down there as an all rounder. Really want him in my side but can't pick him over Freddie. He should be in as a batsman as he's really only a part timer with the ball.
Obviously everyone will pick Flintoff, McGrath and Warne. So I've also taken a couple of gambles on players I don't think many will pick to hopefully get points others won't get.
