The Boat Race

Quote

It's back!! The Dark Blues and the Light Blues are preparing once again to thrash it out on the choppy waters of the Thames in the 153rd boat race.

Oxford have won in 4 of the last 5 years, but Cambridge still lead the overall rankings and, with a heavier crew, are firm favourites to snatch the crown this year.

I'm so excited!! Come on the Dark Blues!! Smash the Tabs!

So will you be going to watch it? Have you ever been? And do you know any of the guys in the Oxford team?

Annoyingly, all my friends that live in London are out of the country, so I'm not going to watch it at the riverside. Will be watching on TV though! Should be going next year, as I should be up in Oxford revising for finals anyway, so it'll be a nice trip out!
Don't know any of the guys on the team, though I do know one of the guys on the Lightweight Blues team. They beat Cambridge at Henley last week Very Happy

Hell yeah!! Apparently we've won every other race so far (i.e. Lightweight blues, lightweight reserves etc.) apart from one of the women's races. Not entirely sure how reliable that info is, but it comes from a friend who rows Very Happy

Should be a good race this year - good conditions etc. Hopefully they won't need to take pumps on board like last year. Or rather, Oxford did, Cambridge didn't and took on a lot of water and thus lost. Mwa ha.

Oxford has the heavier crew this year, so we'll be going in as favourites. Bring it on!
