YESSSSSSS!  yay About time Rosberg had a retirement! Lewis really needed that to stand any chance at all this year! Pleased for Bottas and Riciardo as well, though it would've been nice to see Button on the podium too! Very sorry for Kimi! It's just not been his year....Hope he's ok! Great entertainment watching Alonso and Vettel battling it out and complaining about each other!  lmao I can't stand either of them!  Wink

Certainly looks like he's choking it away. Fast driver - arguably the fastest - but that's not enough. Rosberg is making him look pretty stupid at the moment.

Nice jinx, boogie.

Brilliant stuff from Lewis. I think he would have still won if Rozzie didn't have the gearbox problem which put him out of the race. He was soooo up for it.
Congrats, Lewis. clap

And how about Bottas?? Starting from 14th and finishing 2nd. Excellent driving and overtaking.

I was really hoping to see Jenson on the podium. Just one more lap would have done it against Ricciardo.. people forget just how fantastic Jenson was in his day.

Shame for Massa who narrowly avoided being taken out by Kimi. Great anticipation by him, and sorry he was caught up in the whole unfortunate incident.

Great defending by Alonso against Vettel.. and how about that side-by-side racing when Vettel did the overtake? Brave stuff.

Finally.. and sadly.. my Kimi.
What a shitty season he has had with Ferrari. He had to be aggressive being so far back on the grid, and the accident happened when he hit the high curb.
Glad he's okay, and glad no-one was seriously hurt - including him.

I was sooo excited when he moved to Ferrari.. but their cars are so shitty this season.

Hamilton's brakes fail on a 150mph+ straight and he has a huge crash into the barriers.

******* excellent Mercedes, ******* excellent.

Hamilton now 4 failures to Rosberg's 1. Rolling Eyes

Well someone must have been looking out for him today! He's very lucky to walk away from a crash at that speed! Thanks Luke!

It was his rears that failed so when he slammed on the brakes he just completely spun out and hit the barriers at a bit of an angle. Better than head on.

These cars are so safe nowadays anyway - the car will have absorbed most of the impact.

Oh yes.....I remember seeing a programme on TV about racing some time ago and being horrified to see the cars they used to drive in years gone by. The sides of the car only came about as high as the waist, leaving the rest of the body with no protection at all!  shocking It's no wonder that so many of the crashes were fatal! I doubt I could ever have watched F1 in those days!  nervous These past years since I've been a fan, the most worrying thing was seeing Massa being hit on the head by a piece of debris and knocked unconscious at the wheel! That was bad enough! The only death was the poor chap who got run over by the crane a year or two back, while recovering a crashed car of the track!  Rolling Eyes

Looks like Hamilton be starting from the pitlane as Merc have changed his discs from Brembo to CI. Going to be tough for him to score any points tomorrow, so Rosberg will likely be 29 points ahead come the end of the race.

I think that's it for his WDC chances this year.

Well isn't that what we were saying a few weeks ago? It's rotten luck that this should happen and put him right back to square one again, but anything could happen, so I'm not gonna write him off just yet! Caz....the eternal optimist!  Rolling Eyes

Well, what an exciting race and Lewis done really well to get on the podium from 20th! OK, so he's now 14 points behind Rosberg, but I think he's still in with a chance, though another retirement from Rosberg would be more than welcome!  Whistle Felt really sorry for Massa! So glad he wasn't hurt, but what rotten run of bad luck he's had!  shocking Hope it changes for the better soon, so he can start beating Alonso again!  w00t
