Hamilton takes the lead for the WDC!  cmon yeah Brilliant race, but must admit I got a bit nervous when Lewis was worried about his tyres going away and they wouldn't bring him in! We've seen him lose races in the past for exactly that, but thank God they were right this time and it paid off!  w00t I could almost have felt sorry for Rosberg, but I was too busy laughing when I thought of all the dirty stunts he's pulled!  Rolling Eyes That was his second retirement this year, but was amazed when the comms said Lewis has had 3! That says it all!  Wink I know it's still very tight with so many races still to go, but at least now Lewis has a fighting chance. It would definitely help if Rosberg manages to match Lewis's number of retirements though!  Whistle

Lewis has had three DNF's but has also had to start from the back of the grid twice due to the incompetence of Mercedes (break disk exploding in Germany and car catching fire in Hungary). In both occasions he drove a remarkable recovery drive to finish on the podium.

Brilliant stuff from Lewis. He's such a fantastic driver. Good to see him leading the Championship in points.

Kimi, Kimi, Kimi... What is going on?

I'm having a slight problem with my computer! It keeps double quoting all the time! I have been editing and deleting one of them, but it's happening so often.....I can't be bothered anymore! Hopefully it'll sort itself out!  Rolling Eyes

Another fantastic drive from Hamilton sees him come from 2nd to beat Rosberg by over 10s but it's all overshadowed by a very serious crash by Bianchi who hit a tow truck recovering Sutil's car.

Bianchi unconscious and has been rushed to hospital. All very morbid at the moment as we wait for more news but it's not sounding good at all. Frown

Great drive by Lewis.  I see he has 8 wins to Rosberg's 4.  It is not only the ATP rankings that do not show the true top men.

Bianchi's car ended up under the recovery crane... not good at all.

Hamilton was in a class of his own though. That overtake on the outside to take the lead was supreme.

Hamilton on pole in Russia.......followed by Rosberg, Botas then Button. Sorry to hear there doesn't appear to be any change in Bianchi. Wish all drivers a safe race tomorrow!  pray

Rosberg completely messed up turn 1, flat spots his tires, has to pit and then goes 51 laps without breaking a sweat, making about two overtakes of note and comes second to Hamilton by over 15 seconds (who was quite literally coasting for large parts of the race)... and yet people seem to think Rosberg was 'driver of the day'? It was a decent recovery but it was his own mistake in the first place. Hamilton peerless, as ever.

So that's 4 wins in a row for the second time this season, 9 wins for the season (overtaking Senna for 5th for most wins in a single season) and now equals Nigel Mansell's British record of 31 GP wins. Alonso is one ahead on 32.

The lead now stands at 17 points with three races to go. Rosberg still hasn't passed (or passed and made it stick) Hamilton on track this season, whilst Hamilton has taken him several times (Spa, Monza and Suzuka all immediately spring to mind). There's absolutely no doubt that Hamilton has Rosberg in his pocket - Nico just has nothing on him. They've been pretty even in qualifying (9-7 to Rosberg but Hamilton had two mechanical failures) but on race pace Hamilton is just too quick. The big worry that's always there is a car failure.

My biggest worry is a mechanical failure in Abu Dhabi ('Abu Double') for Hamilton that hands Rosberg the victory (despite Rosberg currently 4-9 down on race wins...). It would be an absolute travesty for the sport. But knowing Hamilton's luck, I genuinely would not be surprised. He's bound to have at least one failure between now and the chequered flag in Abu Dhabi.
