You guys like curling?
Feck me gently.
Well as I kind of indicated, if I perhaps lived somewhere, like Scotland for instance, where it is actually played (and I assume gets at least a little bit of media coverage?), I might not be greatly interested in it due to being exposed to it every so often. However, for me living in NZ, I basically see 1 or 2 matches (or maybe just some highlights) once every 4 years when it's the Olympics so to me it's fascinating. Especially as, from what I've read at least, it seems to be one of the very few events in these games where we (as in GB to clear up any confuison) are expected to seriously challenge for a medal.
I didn't even know what it was before the British women's team got to the final and won it. My Dad told me they were in the final so we stayed up into the middle of the night to watch it. The equivalent to handball in the summer Olympics for me I guess. That is something that is unheard of here until it comes to the final in the Olympics and I find it exciting to watch.
I did actually once stand beside a curling court/patch/strip/what the hell is it called? at some sort of sports exhibition so someone must play it somewhere here! Never heard of it being played though.
