I kinda like it....... love the sweeping thingy - they must have good arms. Plus it must be fun just sliding away along the ice in your shoes at the mercy of a granite stone.  I mean... when do your shoes and  breeks give up?  When do you let go.....?  Can you get it in the hole.....  Oooo errr..... in the Circle..... that'll be my Carry On tendency kicking in......  Frown

Like is a strong word. It's fascinating, what is basically a fairly simple game, seems vastly technical. It's on now, I don't know what's going on and I have to be up early tomorrow, but I can't turn it off!

Well as I kind of indicated, if I perhaps lived somewhere, like Scotland for instance, where it is actually played (and I assume gets at least a little bit of media coverage?), I might not be greatly interested in it due to being exposed to it every so often. However, for me living in NZ, I basically see 1 or 2 matches (or maybe just some highlights) once every 4 years when it's the Olympics so to me it's fascinating. Especially as, from what I've read at least, it seems to be one of the very few events in these games where we (as in GB to clear up any confuison) are expected to seriously challenge for a medal.

I didn't even know what it was before the British women's team got to the final and won it. My Dad told me they were in the final so we stayed up into the middle of the night to watch it. The equivalent to handball in the summer Olympics for me I guess. That is something that is unheard of here until it comes to the final in the Olympics and I find it exciting to watch.

I did actually once stand beside a curling court/patch/strip/what the hell is it called? at some sort of sports exhibition so someone must play it somewhere here! Never heard of it being played though.

Oh bloody hell! How rubbish. Are the ladies still in?

Also I must say that I am very impressed that the Swedish woman who crashed awfully yesterday is back fighting in the alpine skiing, most people would have crawled into a hole! clap

The Curling is a round robin to begin with so the men, and the women, still have quite a few matches left.

I have been strangely drawn in by the biathlon. I don't know who invented it or why they invented it, but there are worse things on tv!

Mmm ski, shoot, ski, shoot, ski, shoot! Still watching it though. The British bloke came 63rd or something. There was a tie for second!
