I would love England to win but I think it might be between Germany and Portugal.

If Brazil meet England i think the scoreline will be Brazil 2-1 England ....just like in 2002...England are gonna score against the weak defence...but i doubt they have enough to stop ronaldinho+kaka+adriano+ronaldo ( and all the remaining players all of whom want to score) .. Sweden scored the most number of goals in the qualifying campaign ( 30 ) and conceeded (4) the least..i think....so they have a big chance to top group B...do not forget about them...if they do top the group England will be 2nd and meet hosts Germany in the next round... playing Germany in Germany...isnt very easy now all of you will talk about the 5-1 victory but this is the world cup...so before reaching the final to play brazil ( and win 5-0.....lol) they dont have it all their way... I think England should play Peter Crouch... he is tall and should make good use of Beckham and cole's crosses....

Wrong Sanjani. England WILL play Peter Crouch cos he is the only bloody striker named in the whole squad FFS.

Crouch should be good as he can utilise the crosses which are sure to rain from the right wing. Owen's form worries me a bit though....

I think its a great myth that Peter Crouch will score loads of headers. He may be a giant, but does that mean he is good at heading? He doesn't exactly score a header every week for Liverpool does he?
A decent option to have as a 4th choice striker, someone to bring on with 10 mins to go when you need to launch the ball into the box for a desparate goal. But I am still struggling to believe we are actually taking him to the World Cup as our number1 striker.

He does not necessarily score headers, but he can surely take advantage of his height and stop the ball. And if on form, Owen is the best poacher around, so he will be useful.
But I agree, Crouch will never win the cup for us.
I am still a bit shocked about the decision to leave out Wright-Phillips. Walcott is a talent no doubt. But I have been following him since he was 15 or so and never have I heard anything which suggests that he will be better than SWP at his age. He will possibly be a much greater player than SWP in a few years, but selecting someone with no proper cub experience is folly to me...

Yeah I didn't mean Owen is not useful, he is World Class, I am a massive Owen fan, just check some of my posts about him from the past day or 2. I am just going on the assumption he won't be fit, or if he does play he will not be anywhere near the level required to play in a world cup. As it stands at this minute, we are going into a World Cup where we are suppsedly meant to be one of the favourites, with 1 striker, and its 1 who doesn't score goals anywhere near on regular basis.
As for SWP, of course he should be in the squad. Its nice to have another Arsenal player in there but one that has never played a premiership game? Lol, I have played as many Premiership games as him, as have you. But I don't feel sorry for Wright-Phillips. He chose to go to Chelsea for the money and its noone elses fault that it's been a decision that is ruining his career. He should have come to us. We wanted him, and his father was one of our greatest ever players. He would have been a star at Highbury and a certainty for the World Cup. Expect a move to a mid table club like Aston Villa or Everton or someone in a year or 2.

Sorry for that.
That makes leaving out SWP even more silly, as he can score. Our only hope is that Lampard will provide back up.

That's exatcly the point. Sven's squad is completely reliant on Lampard, a central midfielder, to get goals. If doesn't score, then we won't score and we won't go past the group.
I'm off, dinner time.
