John Lloyd is my favourite commentator on the BBC, but he is more of an analyst who gives his thoughts. He is succinct, he knows his stuff, he reached a GS final so he can speak with authority about how the players must be feeling, etc. He doesn't like the sound of his voice, and also comes across as a genuinely nice bloke.
David Mercer is also another commentator who I'm pleased to hear commentate, people often confuse him with Frew McMillan because they're both old, but Mercer knows his stuff, and has a wry sense of humour. McMillan, on the other hand is a proven cure for insomnia.
And then, Peter Fleming. The man, who exclaims with his eyes. Watch him in the Sky Sports studio next time, when he emphasises something, he rolls his shoulders forward and his eyes seem to protrude from their sockets, superb. Also knows his tennis quite well, follows it with Sky most of the year.
That would be my team, a perfect balance of knowledge and entertainment.
Henman just doesn't sound like a commentator, I don't know if I'm just not habituated to him yet, or is it his voice? He also doesn't provide his input enough, which is a shame, sometimes you forget he's there!
McEnroe is funny and entertaining, and is sometimes needed for objectivity reasons, he's a close fourth.
Rusedski is a nice guy, but his chin hits against the commentary box window too much that it's hard to discern what he's saying. I think he'll get better with more experience.
Chris Bradnam has this weird voice which irritates me, and is very pro-Federer, I'll get a YouTube of it before I go to sleep tonight. Also did not acheive anything spectacular in the game, why's he there?
Andrew Castle. Smarmy, cheesy, cliche-a-minute, overstates the importance of new balls. He also has this annoying habit of explaining the game's rules, every single match, even the simple ones like how the tiebreak point scoring works.

Boris Becker, knowledgeable guy, but his German drawl makes me think he should be in a porn film and not commentating at SW19.
Barry Davies is a bit past his sell-by dates, and seems to yearn back to the S&V days, time to realise tennis has changed, Barry.
Pat Cash is a commentator who never shuts up, he could commentate by himself and still provide discussion. He also seems to think he's still an Aussie surfer dude.
Honourable mention to Bazza Cowan, who is the best in the business, if I was head controller of the BBC, I would have him on a £3 million salary for two weeks of his time.
And also to Jason Goodall, who is grossly underused as a Hawkeye analyst.
