Because he's essentially a good guy, and he wants everyone to know that he had his demons to wrestle with?  He's not lily white, like the rest of us.... he happens to be in the public eye, so any revelation is going to be.... like... OMG......  it's not all that....no  He's a human being who is being honest about himself... I think that's a good thing....

Now, can you define this "universally recognised standard of goodness"? The very fact that you think one exists tells me that you live in your own world, where your moral code is the definitive version.

Well - I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one.  I think his statement could possibly upset a lot of people - namely his fans.  On the other hand (I'm great at playing Devil's Advocate) perhaps the circle he moves in just says "uh huh" and moves on.

Why would it upset them? Is it his responsibility to consider the reaction of every person who happens to be a fan? You can't please everyone. He took crystal meth. Who really cares? He experimented and it's his body to experiment with. It doesn't make him a bad person, nor does it change who he is today even in the slightest.

I don't think this is about his fans.  This man is a person.... he did what he did at the time and he's 'fessed up.  I've no doubt it upsets a lot of people, and I've no doubt it upsets him more..... Takes a lot of guts to admit you were wrong.......

It wasn't a sweeping statement. In fact, it was a very specific statement. People who take the moral high ground are simply not people I care for a whole lot. That does not include Hazel. However, it does include you.

Love how you avoided the question. I guess this universal moral code you mentioned doesn't exist, after all. Either back up what you say or engage your brain before you hit "post".

Are you talking about people getting on their high horse or people choosing to try and take a moral path in their lives? The former tends to be a annoying, the latter is a good thing.
