Remember being absolutely gutted because Andy hadn't won a Grand Slam .....shallow of me I know but hey! ho.. But now I,ll enjoy watching it.

Yeah that was the downside for sure. I was a big Delpo fan so was very happy for him (especially as he beat Federer!) but I really thought 2009 would be Andy's year.

I like Delpo but i'm not convinced, not just becauae of his injuries but he seems to just dissapear in some matches he looks like winning easily, his match against Isner in Cincy was a total meltdown.

I have doubts too. Not so much about his mentality because I think he's one of the few players who can match the big 4 in the important matches. But apart from a couple of matches he's been unable to reach the same level of tennis since his injury. He's shown flashes here and there but generally he's a more conservative player these days. And he doesn't have the same level of fitness as Novak, Rafa and Andy which counts against him in the long matches, especially in the best of 5 format.

Perhaps one day the stars will align for him again like they did in 2009 and he'll hit peak form in a slam. I'd like him to win another slam, though not at Andy's expense.

Delpo's only 24 so could do it after Andy, Djoko and Nadal retire.  The only problem is of course who might be coming up behind him.

I'm not so sure he'll still be playing after Andy and Novak retire because of all the injuries he's had over the years. Hopefully he can have an injury-free period of his career soon though, he definitely deserves that.

At least I didn't try to run along Princes Street naked.  Some guy did that the other day. #Joe #suspicious

I'd like to see him have that too Katie.  He's struggled so hard to come back from that wrist injury.

Well Mardy Fish has withdrawn from the USO, i have a feeling we won't be seeing him on the tour much from now on, in fact it wouldn't surprise me if he announces his retirement soon.

He's got to retire, the conditions weren't even that warm yesterday when he suffered heat stroke. His body has become too weak, would be a fair analogy.

I feel terribly sorry for Mardy Fish. I haven't read all of the stuff about his heart problems, but it seems like he's been through hell.

I really do fear for Fish if he doesn't consider his options. You have to wonder what sort of risk he is taking with himself now if he continues playing, and if it is really worth it.

Her cynical commercialism over the last few days is embarrassing.  She needs to decide whether she really wants to be a tennis player any longer - if not, get out and that'll be one less shrieker.

This hate for Sharapova is awful, please hush. She isn't a bad person you know, she isn't looking for this attention, the media is giving it. She probably did the name change under hushed circumstances but it found its way out.

The naivity of youth the whole name change thing was deliberate attention seeking. If she had done it, (which in my view she never had any intention of doing), of course it was going to come out.  My dislike of Sharapova is more based on her grunting which she admits is intended solely to put her opponents off their stride. I dislike gamesmanship in any of its many varied forms. She comes over as a bit of a madam to me. Her tantrums at Wimbledon didn't impress me either. But hate is far too strong a word, more like a gnat you want to swat.
