Can't say I didn't expect that result,sadly.But still,ouch.

Feel bad for Ferrer.Has he ever had such a good chance to beat Rafa before and let it slip like that?I can't remember him coming that close.

I will volunteer to do it for him next time, but it will have to be with my right hand. My left is rubbish lol.

If it looks like a bagel, tastes like one, smells like one then it's a bagel, folks.

Now Kei's match should be starting soon...

Such a shame for Ferrer. I thought for a moment there he might just get through today, but his best chance was to do it in straight sets. I was even pondering how long Nadal might need out to get over the shock if he lost, which clearly makes me a horrible, mean-spirited person.

Ohh, so that's what happened. I thought some clay went into his eyes.

Why is Petch talking about Nadal winning the tournament already? I know it's likely, but there are other players still in. If it was hard court and people were talking about Andy being the likely winner at this point, especially given the absence of Federer and Djokovic, Petch would be the first to tell people to hold their horses, there is a way to go yet. I still think Petch has got PMT this week, bless him.

For the Ivanovic fans - after the fairly gruelling up and down match v Laura the other day, Ana made quick work of 4th seed Angelique Kerber today, winning 6-3 6-1 in under an hour. Plays Sharapova in the SF

yay I'm so delighted Smile

Though I'm nervous about Maria.I'd love for Ana to beat her,but I can't really see it happening.Hopefully I'm wrong though!

And even if she does lose, with today's win she's risen 3 places in the rankings and is  playing better than she has in ages cmon yeah

Ferrer really played well for 2 sets - such a shame he made that mistake with the forehand putaway shot that would've given him 2 matchpoints. He just didn't have anything left in the 3rd - not surprising when the Haas match last night was so long too. But as a fan I'm pleased that he was able to make the match much more competitive than the Acapulco final (that one was painful to watch!) I doubt he'll ever beat Rafa on clay again, but I think his game matches up quite well with him on hardcourts - would like to see them play on hard again, their H2H is so weighted in favour of clay.

Rafa showed once again why he's so difficult to beat on clay - his defence is unreal and he never gives up. Amazing how many shots he ends up returning that would be winners against other players.
