Well if Gasquet beats Djokovic he will overtake Federer in the race and knock him down to 8th, Wawrinka is now also only 85 point behind Fed. Raonic could also easily win Tokyo and be right on Federer's tail. Fed better watch out otherwise he might find himself in 10th soon and he wont even get to the 02 even if Andy skips it.

I thought that as of Monday Gasquet will, at worst,  be only 50 points behind Federer and Stan just 40! (he did win a round in China). Federer is not playing this week so cannot add to his points before then. As you say Federer could drop to 9th or 10th in the coming weeks if Federer fails in his matches before the O2 and these two and Raonic have a good few weeks?

Bearing in mind what Federer has said about Andy in the past if it were me I would turn up and "take part" at O2 just to keep him out should he drop to 9th! Could do it as match fitness training?  I suspect though Andy is too respectful of Smugfed and has forgiven him his early words?

What a shame for Tomas, having to retire from the match at 2-4. Frown Hope he fixes his back, soon. Risky business, this game of tennis.

Here's how it all went down, if interested:

I think the service motion must be a major cause of back problems given the twisting and stretching involves.
