I've been playing on grass for a bit now, hated it at first but now I have adapted, it's really fun! You have more freedom with the ball and you'll often push your body forward into your shots producing more power due to the low bounce. Also I think you get more rallies as things are a bit slower, I like rallies Very Happy

Well, if the rallies are a bit slower, then the grass must be a bit longer ............ watch out for the cow pats  Smile

Slower in comparison with what?

Feels slower than HC to me, well the lower bounce makes it feel like that at least. Yesterday I played a couple of hours on grass and then immediately played on HC.

I would have thought the lower bounce gives you less time to prepare and hit the shot, therefore making it quicker?

I'm no tennis expert but I felt the lower bounce meant you didn't have to scramble around when the balls were landing near the baseline but on HC I find myself pushing myself back so I have enough space to take a proper swing at it otherwise I'm hitting the ball nearer shoulder height rather than waste.

Those of us who play tennis know this ......... Mark is still catching up Smile

It's fairly simple, lower bounce at the baseline gives you more time to prepare, lower bounce closer to the net gives you less time. I suppose it is down to my partner that lower bounce is giving me more time.
