I only occasionally play on Astroturf. Wouldn't mind playing on it a bit more. My club's courts are all weather but in cold winter evenings I've seem them becoming too slippery and unplayable. |

I hate them compared to hard court - the ball dies when it bounces and also it really screws up the felt of the balls.
Felt aside, I love playing you on the astroturf. You can't handle my mishits net shots! Any ideas what grass is expected to play like, on a scale of astroturf to indoor hard? |

Can someone tell me if I'm crazy to consider this:
My overgrips are making my grip size too big... would it be crazy to actually remove the original tennis grip and use an overgrip on it's own instead?

No not at all. A lot of people at my club take the grip of their rackets completely then put two overgrips on instead. |

Oh great!! I was worried that the original grip is especially thick or something and an overgrip would not be appropriate on it's own.
I shall try this out because I was considering having to buy the same racquet again but with L3 size.

No don't do that. Definitely try the overgrip technique.

I've just removed the original grip and put on two Prince DuraTec grips...feels good, will try it out on Thursday! Thanks for your help  |

all 3 of my kids are starting tennis lessons on saturday  they all went to a mini tennis session during the easter holidays and loved it, so we now have one in kindergarten, one in red and one in orange... have any of you guys ever competed in mini tennis tournies in your youth? our eldest is desperate to have a go but I have no idea what they are like...  thoughts and advice are most welcome! |
