GB drawn to face USA away in 2014, then either Argentina or France.

USA will be interesting. They have the Bryans of course so we might not win the doubles, but all the singles rubbers will be fascinating.

We need Dan or James to go up another level  - probably Dan.  Top 100 would be a start.

Is it not Italy or Argentina next?

So not too bad then.  Fortunately the Bryans are no longer quite the force they were.  I think Fleming/Murray would have a fair chance of beating them.

I'm backing Dan as well.  He's really motivated these days.

Well I'm glad it's not Spain, because we all know they would have picked clay. USA on hard presumably. That doesn't sound too bad does it? There is the dubs of course, but either Colin and Johnny Marray or Colin and Andy would give that a heck of a go and I reckon they might stand a reasonable chance. The Bryans aren't getting any younger.

I think Dan will be the one to go up to the next level if he can stay motivated, which he should now he's seen what he is capable of. Top 100 is definitely possible. Some pundits say maybe even top 50, which would be fantastic.

^ Spain on clay in February?  I suppose though they could adapt an indoor court, something which I understand is possible.

Indoor clay looks weird. I'm sure I saw a bit of an indoor clay tournament on TV at some point (it could have been women's) and it doesn't look right. Still, we don't have to worry about that, so I'm happy.

The funny thing is that I was more anxious about the draw for this than for Wimbledon!

It is Italy, Mackem.

Aileen it's Italy or the Argies.

Also, lots of DC ties are played on indoor clay.

That's what I meant in my response to Mackem's post PE.  He was querying the fact that an earlier poster had said France or Argentina.

Would've loved a home tie v Khazakstan! However, could've been better, could've been worse.

He rolled on his ankle at match point. He said he heard a couple of pops.  He was supposed to be having an MRI last night.

Hope he gets some good news from the MRI.

He did! Pospisil tweeted this a couple of days ago: For those wondering about the ankle: MRI results revealed no tears. Should be back in competition 7-10 days from now if rehab goes well.
