Davis Cup
« on: September 15, 2012, 04:06 PM »
Haase/Rojer beat Fed/Stan.
Like seriously I don't even like Fed but pull yourself together man . You are playing for your country. Represent it well.
The tie is at 1-1 with the Swiss and Netherlands
Also Spain v USA. Spain leading 2-0 after Almagro won against Isner.
Hewitt pulls it out of the bag again for #daviscup winning dubs with Guccione 63 62 26 76 to give Australia a 2-1 lead over Germany
This is Fed's biggest fan. I think.
Is she going to playing pinata with that cow she has?
Berdych won against Pico. It was a horrible match. So many breaks of serves. 1-1 between the Czechs and Argentina . There were some huge amount of controversy over that match though. See here >

The most hated player on tour? That's a bit harsh and a bit out of line.
Also Delpo bet Stepanek but Steps has some really harsh things to say about delpo after the match.
Speaking in Czech, he said Del Potro looked “absolutely healthy.” Stepanek said Delpo’s tears at the end seemed “blown out of proportion.
Told about Stepanek’s comments, Delpo replied: “I wish I were perfect. I’m surprised to hear what he said, b/c it’s not what he said to me.”
so basically Steps is accusing Delpo of injury gamesmanship
Oh the drama.

Who is more hated on tour than Berdych? I think it's a fair statement. It says "one of the most hated" anyway.
Spain are 2-0 up if Isner lost, after Querrey lost to Ferrer in 4 sets. Not good for the US, Isner really needed to win that match for them to have a chance.

I wonder if Fed will blame Stan again for their loss.
USA beat Spain in the doubles, but can't see them winning the tie - Isner's going to have to play a lot better to have a chance against Ferrer.
Stepanek's comments are out of line - Delpo shouldn't even be playing, he's going against medical advice and there's rumours he won't be able to play tomorrow either.

Even if Isner manages to beat Ferrer (I find it very unlikely that he will) I can't see Querrey beating Almagro, not on clay.

Just been watching some of the Argie tie on a livestream. These horns sound awful. Looks like Czechs gonna take it.
Woo-hoo Argies win that game. Berdych to serve match out.
Czechs having real problems here. Not a lot of communication going on.
But they finally take it in straight sets.

Yeah it would be a major upset if that happened. Think Ferrer will close it out in the first match.

Can't believe we have another home tie. And I can only see Andy playing if it's on clay.

GB get a bye - does this mean we avoid the relegation play-offs?
Whether we win or lose these ties relies heavily on Murray. Our doubles team is one of the best in this group, so Murray wins his two matches, we win.
Problem is, if we did get promoted any time soon we'd rely on Andy to play just to give us a fighting chance. And, very understandably, he would not be able to play every DC match. So until some other players start coming through, there's not really any point in Murray playing other than perhaps to help us stay up.
