Just an amazing performance by David! After all the tennis he's played over the last few weeks and still able to come up with tennis like that under such pressure deserves so much credit. I hope Almagro can win the Davis Cup for them now.

And Ferrer does it! He looks sooooo delighted and no wonder. He's been playing the best tennis of his career this season. Love that man - one of my faves.
Agree completely. I love Ferrer, I think he's adorable, and so tenacious. He scares me a bit when he plays Andy, but Andy has his measure on anything other than clay, so I can handle it lol.
Rusedski on the other hand, if he says 'the other thing as well' once more, I will throw something!

He just smiled, knelt down, said a few words (a prayer of thanks, maybe?), then went up to the net looking pleased as punch. Berdy gave him a brief handshake without even looking at him, and Ferrer went off to hug all his very happy team-mates.
Hope Spain win this now, if only to show that they really can survive without Nadal.

I don't know where Ferrer gets his energy from and I love the way he never stops bouncing about. No surprise that he's known on here anyway as the Duracell Bunny.
Eurosport livestreams only show the matches and so spared comments from Mr R. What's he referring to anyway when he says "the other thing as well"?

So pleased for David, and hope Almagro can do the same.
I've not really followed Davis Cup much before this last couple of years, but for all the fuss that's made about it being a team event and representing your country, it doesn't seem quite right if it's won by just two players (Berdych and Stepanek) who both live in Monaco -presumably for tax reasons. But maybe like Djoko they do lots of good works back in their home country...

Delighted to seeing Ferrer beating Berdych, especially after his comments re Almagro. I find him so arrogant, love it when he is brought down a peg a two or even three!

Maybe special tennis booties?
Missed the first set but this one's turned into a real nail-biter.

TB time - come on Almagro!
Ugh - nasty fall by Stepanek, but he seems OK. Think it's unsettled Almagro though.

Oh dear. Steppy takes TB 7-0. Not looking good for Spain now. No wonder Ferrer doesn't look happy.

Definitely looks like Steps is going to win this now! Almagro has seemed shackled by the pressure all match, so many errors. But Steps has played very well.
