Lendl is crying.
Oh goodness! I didn't hang around to watch the presentation stuff but I can imagine it was all very emotional.

I know I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

I completely forgot about Lendl. It's nice to see him so emotional.

I thought I saw a tear from Lendl! Well done the Czechs - to do it with a two man team is quite something.

Some pictures...happy to see them happy. Poor Almagro though. He looked so sad.

One can only imagine how he felt. Such a shame - he had his chances but didn't or couldn't take them. And Ferrer looked very unhappy too, which was hardly surprising given that he'd played what was probably the best tennis of his career to level the tie.

The net jumping, dancing joy of Stepanek was priceless. That's what patriotism is all about. At 34 -so pleased for him. Just shows what a 2-man team is capable of.

Yes a 2 man team, but Andy is only a 1 man team in singles which is pivotal to success in the group, I know we have a good doubles team, however that is not enough. So stupid Frew etc Andy would have to play singles twice on one day and once or twice on the last day!!!!It's a non brainer.

We could do OK in the World Group if Andy played and won every match, which is possible, given how little the other 3 top players play. Chances are, we'd win the majority of the dubs, too, with Rosco and Colin.

As much as I would have liked Spain to win, because of Ferrer, I couldn't help being pleased for Stepanek. He'll be a hero in his country now, and good on him. His joy with the win was quite something to see.
I didn't see the presentation, but lovely to know it meant so much to Lendl. The more I see of Lendl the more I like him. A genuine, decent man, rather like our Andy.
That's an interesting point about the crowd. They were loud, they would be, it's Davis Cup, but the umpire kept a lid on it and kept it fair. There was a suggestion in commentary on Friday, I think in Berdych's match, that the umpire could give a point penalty to Berdych if the crowd didn't behave properly (they were getting just a bit OTT), but I'm glad that didn't happen in the end. Interesting that it was noticed by the comms that the crowd were getting a bit much though.

The difference between this crowd and the mob at the O2 was that both teams had a massive amount of support, although inevitably there were more Czechs than there were Spanish, and the overall atmosphere was friendly. Also I seem to recall that during the Stepanek/Almagro match the umpire actually issued that warning to the crowd, which did briefly cool them down a bit.
