On the plus side, its lovely and warm over there at the moment - like the comment on my weather guide - an excellent time for outdoor fitness. Very Happy

I totally agree with Eric Nicolson who also thinks Andy should'nt risk his career playing on clay and the switching back to hard court
Another point I would make is that DC is a team event  While Andy plays in all three matches the rest
of the team get no experience  and will never improve

Andy is a professional who has a whole host of experts in his team.   I'm sure we can rely on their professional judgement.

I agree Alis.

Also one good thing about Andy's QF exit from the AO is that he will have more time to acclimatise to playing on clay, so if there's any sign that that surface is significantly aggravating his back (although this may not now be the case, despite a few assumptions to the contrary) I would think it would show up before the tie begins.  Fortunately he does have a three week break from competition before Acapulco in which to recover from both this, if he plays, and the AO, and get used to playing on hard court again.

On the plus side, he's playing 2 servebots, i doubt there will be many long rallies when Isner & Querrey are your oppponents Smile

On the negative side, playing Isner can lead to a lot of tie breaks.

Let's hope Andy's return game is working
