Commentators and everyone else involved still trying to pretend Murray might play today right up to the last minute. We've lost the tie now
The doubles rubber is going to be very very tough. Rusedski is going to be pretty well worn after that match and the Serb team is very good
Djokovic vs Parmar = No way we will win this
Rusedski vs Djokovic= No way we will win this
Murray will likely find himself playing a dead singles rubber.

Yup- bit unfair  But i think we do have a chance - yes, i think Parmar is going down...... but i think we can win tomorow....and then if they bring out Andy on Sunday we can do it, and even if they don't - it's still possible!  |

Bates has screwed uo yet again. Murray had made it clear he was ok to play today, even the commentators said Murray looked fine and could have played. So instead of possibly being 2-0 up it will be 1-1 with a very fatigued Rusedski letting the side down against a world class doubles team. The whole British tennis cabal is so overprotective of Murray it's unreal. Henman played plenty of DC ties when he wasn't feeling 100%, whereas if Murray stubs his toe Bates would probably have him take 12 months out from DC action.

The real idiocy here is Bates logic that having Murray play doubles will be less taxing. Hmm, sure. Murray is going to have to work a lot harder than he would in a single match because he'll be covering Rusedski's ass. If he had played today we could be 2-0 up and the doubles would be a throwaway match.

Auckland would only make things worse. He's not played much this year, and whatever his doubles ranking Rusedski is still the better doubles player. |
