The clay season is so predictable.  So tedious.     Another BORING Fedal final.    Just what the tennis world needs  Rolling Eyes

Their H2H is 15-0. Fed in 3 sets.

Btw, isn't it 14-0?

No 15-0.

Was their last meeting in the ATP WTF last year? If not, then I guess the atptennis website hasn't updated their H2H.

The only saving grace is if Berdych can make the SFs. His record against Federer since 2010 is very good. Although has he ever beaten him on clay?

A counter puncher like Andy always fights back.

In the recent clay court events Ferrer seemed very consistent, aggressive tennis. Yes, he twice collapsed against Nadal in the final set. Yet, I think it is a mental thing in these encounters. So I have high hopes in Ferrer to overcome Fed. He must not catch up on Andy! Better he goes out before.

Fed's draw is ridiculous. Right, sorry Ferrer, I love you to pieces, but Berdych has to make the semi's. Berdych might just do the biz against Fed, Ferrer won't. Stupid draw, stupid tournament, stupid clay! Grrr!

It's no wonder Fed has no plans to retire when he gets doddle draws. I wonder how long it will be before someone tries to kid us that he has it tough.

Anyone (apart from PseudoFed: "Roland knows which side his croissant is buttered ") still thinking the draw is fixed?

Not me anymore - I was sure that Novak and Rafa would be on opposite sides of the draw, but I'm glad to be proved wrong. I never usually believe in draw fixing, but after Ferrer drew Rafa in both the Madrid and Rome QFs (giving Rafa back his top 4 ranking in the process) I was beginning to have doubts.

It certainly makes the SF stage of the competition more interesting if the Rafa/Novak matchup happens then. Not getting my hopes up with Ferrer/Federer, although Ferrer has in the past taken sets off Federer on clay and hasn't played him on slow clay since 2010. You never know... Though both Ferrer and Federer have far harder QF match-ups than Djokovic and Nadal.

Not impressed that Monfils has drawn Berdych in the first round - a good run in the tournament would have helped Monfils' ranking. Having said that, Berdych is vulnerable to first round exits in slams. I see Berdych then could meet Gulbis in round 2, the player who knocked him out of Wimbledon - could be interesting!
