Yeah, but he's defending more at Aus, so I don't think he'll catch him up just yet. We'll see....

I dunno, if Djokovic plays Doha, like I think he is, then I think we'll see him catch up, at least till the Australian. It'd also mean him being second seed.

Federer and Djokovic are both playing this week, but at different tournaments. For Djokovic to overtake this week, and therefore be seeded 2nd at the AO, he has to gain 50 points over Federer. He can do that by reaching the semis, if Federer does not reach the quarters. Or by reaching the final, if Federer does not reach the final. Or by winning, if Federer does not win.
This actually means that Murray can be the one to make it happen, since he can stop Federer reaching the final, and Djokovic should be a cert to reach at least the final in Brisbane.

Wahey! Just checked that out myself on the ATP site - I was a little worried that Djokovic winning the TMC meant he was back on form, but this result is just the ticket!!

"Good morning Novak, room number 4 is ready for you. Upon leaving seat number 3, please take all your excessive egotistical baggage with you and leave it tidy for the next occupant."

None of the top players do. This week last year was the week before the Australian open.
Djokovic's biggest loss, as I noted earlier, is that he loses the chance to overtake Federer, and especially since overtaking him this week would have meant being seeded 2nd at the Australian Open.

It was on the tv here but i was watching the cricket. By all accounts Nole was a bit rusty.

I'm sure he'll be in good shape for the AO but the fact he is yet to defend a title makes me beleive he won't be doing it here.

If Djokovic reaches the final this coming week, he'll go up to second. However, it'll be too late to count for the seedings for the AO. In all likelihood, even if he does make second, it'll only be for a couple of weeks.
