Madrid MS 2012 - Other Players

Traver takes 2nd set 6-2.
I don't know this guy.. but I don't think he's playing anything special.. just Nole isn't playing well imo.
Wonder if he's carrying an injury bcos in 1st set he was wailing a lot when hitting the ball.
Who knows... I think everyone has an injury when they're not playing well..
Faced Murray at Wimbledon last year - Murray started slow and Gimeno-Traver took the first set (I think on a tie-break maybe? Can't quite remember the specifics) but Murray took the 2nd then GT rolled over and Murray whitewashed him in the last two sets.

Was just inside the top 100 at the time, has since fallen out and floated around 80-120 in the rankings.

But for Djokovic (or any of the top guys tbh) to lose a set against anyone of that standard they have to be pretty off-form. I expect Djokovic will find it again in this 3rd set and see it out quite comfortably in the end. Bit of a scare for him right now though.

Gasquet/Bellucci goes to a final set TB.

Anyone got a stream for that? SkyGo only showing the Djokovic match and obviously don't have match choice available on there!

Nole/Mohammed drama... Nole asked him to check a mark, Mohammed said too late (it wasn't imo) and hawkeye later showed it was in fact out... but Traver got the point.

Aw Gasquet takes it eventually on the 6th MP with a great backhand. Great fight from Bellucci, so so close to causing an upset.

Was defending 360 points here as well (which he lost on Monday, taking him down to the 60's in the rankings from the 30's).

Edit: Oh and thanks for the link. Smile

Gasquet finally goes through needing 8 match points before he won. Good match though

Djokovic eventually breaks. Frown GT saved the first three with two winners and an ace but another great return from Djokovic sets up a 4th and it's just one too many.

Probably game over for GT now.

I just do not like Milos R's game, if this is the future of tennis we will be back to the days of boring tennis. The days of the big servers, where the receiver just moved from one side to the other and that was game over. I really love seeing the finesse and the returns you see with the top 4. If we have endure Milos, del Potro and Isner then I won't be watching much tennis.
