What a shame about Novaks injury. I cant believe he carried on playing after the way he came down on that ankle. In a way, his elasticity exposes him to injury as he's stretching joints and ligaments to the absolute limit.

I really hope that it's not as bad as it looked. He's a hero anyway (or a bit foolish maybe) to carry  on playing the rest of that match.

Get well soon Novak!

Been discussed in the ATP thread.

This is the problem with multiple player threads and two general ones.

Calming the storm - no ligament damage to Novak Djokovic's ankle, but does need 'therapy and strict rest.'

A doubt for Monte Carlo but should be fit for Madrid.

The psychological damage could be even greater, he knows now that he won't be able to just sprint around from side to side and overstretching to retrieve balls on hard courts without this injury being in the back of his mind.

To be honest, with the way he plays i'm surprised that this hasn't happened to him before.

Why am I not surprised that no commentators have called Djoko a drama queen?  Imagine if that had been Andy.

I so agree. Andy has absolutely no way out. Either way, he is doomed. I saw the post-match interview of Nole where he cried and it's in Serbian language, but Andy wouldn't have gotten any break out of this.

What's the point?  Andy will either overcome, or he will not.
