Seems we don't have a thread for Nole? Time we did.

I saw him defeat Seppi 6-3, 6-4 earlier today in the Hopman Cup. He looked exhausted, but got the job done. Said he arrived there very late last night and had little sleep.
He was involved in a minor incident after the match when kids were clamouring over a courtside barrier and it collapsed. Everyone fine, and Nole was checked out. He downplayed the whole thing, except to say he was glad the kids were okay.. and later came back to play mixed dubs with Ivanovic. They lost against Seppi/Schiavone 7-6. 6-4. Seppi was thrilled to finally get a victory over Nole, even, as he said, it was mixed dubs. Smile

I don't think we do Linda.  How strange.

Yes Djoko and the children were really lucky to escape injury, and in fact he said he was more worried about the effects of jetlag than any harm to himself.

From Fox Sports -

Novak Djokovic shook off jetlag to beat Andreas Seppi 6-3, 6-4 on Monday to help Serbia beat Italy 2-1 at the Hopman Cup then avoided injury after the match when a courtside barrier collapsed while signing autographs.

Djokovic was signing autographs when the divider fell. It hit the Serb on his legs as it crashed and several fans went tumbling to the ground. Djokovic briefly squatted in discomfort but later took to the court for the mixed doubles, won by Italy 7-6 (4), 6-4.

''It was a bit of a shock and I'm glad that the children involved are OK. I am fine,'' said Djokovic, who was more concerned about his condition pre-match because of fatigue from jetlag.

Djokovic arrived in Perth less than 24 hours before he stepped on court, but still had a straight-sets win to add to Ana Ivanovic's 6-0, 6-4 victory over Francesca Schiavone, giving Serbia a win in the group-stage of the mixed teams event.

''I arrived quite late last night and didn't get long hours of sleep and felt this morning like I'm dream-walking,'' Djokovic said. ''But as the match went on I was managing to get my rhythm. I broke the ice after the first set and felt a little bit better.''

Djokovic got off to a good starting jumping out 2-0, but he later struggled to hold for 5-2. In the second set a double-fault gave Djokovic a break to lead 3-2, but he again struggled to maintain his lead and had to fight off four break points at 4-3 before completing his victory.

I just watched the Hopman Cup mixed dubs he played today with Ana Ivanovic.  roflmao Anyone else see it?

They were playing against 2 kids who stepped in for Tommy Haas (who joked earlier he had withdrawn because he didn't want to play against Nole again, and was thinking of giving up tennis.lmao) One of the kids was a 16 year old Aussie who was a hitting partner, and didn't even have a change of clothes because it was so last minute.
It was a foregone conclusion that they had no chance, so Nole made a real exhibition out of the situation. The whole crowd were involved, and he even had the ballkids take over the match for a bit. Everyone was enjoying the whole thing.
Hilarious fun.
Here's the match if anyone interested.

I've just watched the last few minutes.  Extremely funny.  Have noted the whole match for viewing over the weekend.

I love Djoko.  He's a natural entertainer.  The only two comparable players, past or present, that I can think of are Yannick Noah and Mansour Bahrami.

Kokkinakis is a top talent.

I watched him beat Oli Golding last year, although Golding was well on top until he got an injury and had to retire.

So Nole now has 6 Slams. If he wins 2 more, which I believe he will, he will then stand with all the other all time greats. His 2 years at No. 1 is worth mentioning as well.
