Not sure if this is the right place for this, but while we’re in a bit of a tennis lull – has anybody else seen this film?
It’s the true story of Tony Hawks and his attempt to beat all the players in the Moldovan national football team at tennis. For those that don’t know, he is a British writer, comedian, and tennis enthusiast - he is also a co-founder of Tennis for Free see http://www.tennisforfree.com/
He says "The film tells the true story of how I, Tony Hawks, a complacent and somewhat self-indulgent writer, attempted to win a silly bet in order to gather material for a light-hearted new book, but along the way became embroiled in an uplifting and life-changing adventure..."
You can watch it for free at http://www.moldovansmovie.com/index.html
Donations are encouraged. All profits go to the Tony Hawks Centre for children with cerebral palsy in Chisinau, Moldova
I watched it when it first came out (Wimbledon time), and enjoyed it – both funny and moving. There’s not a lot of tennis in it. I also enjoyed a little email exchange with TH after making a donation! I said I’d spread the word, but I’ve taken my time about it...
And that’s my 1,000th post!
