Yesterday…

Yesterday, by FedCartney:

Yesterday, all my shankings seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday

Suddenly, I’m not half the GOAT I used to be
There’s an unforced error hanging over Me.
Oh, today came suddenly

Why it had to go I don’t know it wouldn’t say
I did something wrong, now I long for yesterday

Yesterday, tennis was such an easy game to play
Now I need to practise harder every day
Oh, I believe in yesterday

Why it had to go I don’t know it wouldn’t say
I played something wrong, now I long for yesterday

Yesterday, tennis was such an easy game to play
Now all I do is hit the net all day
Oh, I believe in yesterday
Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm

lmao  Tennis's Poet Laureate!

And the tweets between PF and his followers after this are really amusing too.  They're telling him he's a genius, wonderful, etc, and he's #humbly agreeing with them. lol

This from Pam Shriver re Feds decline:

“No other tennis player at the top has kids, much less twins, so he’s got it coming at him from two significant angles,When you’re a parent, you spend an enormous amount of time down low with them. The darndest things can tweak your back, like reaching down for a Lego.”

I cannot believe this is seriously being touted. The guys a youngish part-time parent, not a grandpa!!

Imagine

by Fedennon

Imagine there’s no Murray
It’s easy if you try
No Nadal below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all My fans
Living for today…
Imagine there’s no Nole
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to defend or try for
And no Hawkeye too
Imagine all the linespeople
Living My life in peace…

You may say I’m a GOAT
You know I am the only One
I hope someday you won’t join Me
Otherwise I’m really really done

Imagine Me with no rivals
I certainly know I can
No need for sweatings or gruntings
The little guys, just men
Imagine all the happy people
Sharing all the world…

You may say I’m a dreamer
I’m not the only one
Please someday don’t join Me
So I will always be the One.

Oh, so she's blaming his kids for his back. That's novel.

You can do your back in doing odd things, I know people who have done it when they've sneezed, but tennis is tough on the back as well, and Fed is old now - she says, knowing full well he's 8 years younger than me.

Why can't these fools just accept that the man can no longer do what he could a few years ago? The lot of them are just in denial.

Fed had a back problem for years when he was at the top and nobody mentioned it.  Now it's being trotted out as an excuse, not, I might add by Federer, but by his fans and others who can't get their heads round the fact that his glory days have passed.

actually Aileen hasn't fed been talking rather a lot about his back recently?  Of course he'd not be so obvious as to say it was an excuse but..... Rolling Eyes
