World No. 54 Adrian Mannarino recorded one of the biggest wins of his career on Court 1 as he ousted 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro 7-6(3), 7-6(7).
Would that mean he won it 7-0 PT?  Must admit I've never even heard of Mannarino.  I wonder what happened there.

It was pretty impressive.  I fear though that the break will favour Querrey.

I favour Querrey too.  We have seen this so many times before with british players at this time of year.  Ward will have a good few weeks, and then when grass is over he will go back to being utter garbage as per normal.

Heather Watson is really making good progress this year.  I just worry she doesn't have any "big" shots really.  However, she could easily be top 50 by the end of the year and is by far the best female talent we have had in more than a decade, or even longer!  She has a lovely personality also.

Why are Anne and Elena playing at Nottingham?  I assume they are being paid to drop down to a lower level tournament, or is it more with a view to getting matches in.

I fear the rest will tip the scales in Querrys favour but I hope Ward is experiencing a high, and can win the match. Just imagine that!

Watson is unfortunately out at Birm. against her Chinese opponent. Straight sets loss. Pity that.

Assuming Mannarino won the tie-break 9-7, then the score would be right.

I think they see it as a chance to get more wins and therefore more ranking points in Nottingham than if they played in Birmingham.

Wishing the best for James Ward.  Not liking the look of the cage fighter he has in his camp, though!  Very Happy  Having said that, if he's helping Ward's game, that can't be a bad thing.

Well done James .

yes And he won it well, with little sign of nerves. Also since it was done so quickly he stands more of a chance at playing a better QF match

Ward looks like the love child of Andy Murray and Tim Henman.
