I don't think Nadal is playing any better; it's just Nole's level has dropped significantly since AO. He was struggling throughout RG and in the final, he got 2 sets down very quickly. I don't think you can afford it in a final against Nadal given the surface. There was no reason for Nole to start so slow and dig so deep.
Anyway, I don't think Nole has a decent chance to defend Wimbledon. Nadal has the best chance to win it followed by either Andy or Federer.

Yes there was, he was going for a career slam in the domain of the king of clay. He was clearly ******** bricks & it took him more than 2 sets to get it together.
Agree with your possibles for Wimbledon however, although i hope its not roger that gets to take advantage obviously.

Yes, he was going for the Novak Slam and this was his first RG final against Nadal, so he had to be a bit nervous and maybe that's why he struggled throughout the tournament. He's after all human. He came close though and this 5 setter in a GS is really a big help as it allows you to work on your nerve before time runs out and it did too, but then the rain got in the way. It probably was just not meant to be this time.
Now that Nadal is this confident, and if Andy falls on Nadal's side which he will (90% chance of that), then I am not sure how Andy's going to handle Nadal this time.

I will be very surprised if Nadal and Andy are not on the same side again.
The draws apparently still favour Federer.
Oh well, it might be a case of 4th or 5th time lucky.
If he believed he could do it then i would be hopeful.

Every other year, Nadal has made a comeback (2008, 2010 etc.), so if we go by the trend then this is his year again and it makes sense too since he's taken a lot of beating from Nole just last year and this year at AO, so he must be hungry and eager to prove people wrong (that he's 2nd best). And that just doesn't look good for Andy overall. If Andy were anything like Nole then probably I wouldn't have worried so much, but unfortunately, Andy is still a lot mental. Still gutted for Nole's loss, really but who knows what destiny has in store for us. Maybe every theory will be out there will be proven wrong. We certainly didn’t see Nole’s coming for instance. I am not sure though if I want to stick around for Wimbledon. Very tempted to take a vacation instead and not go through any heartbreak. Quite the chicken, I know but there you go.
