Zeballos really played an excellent match tonight - fearless tennis.
Rafa's return to top-level tennis will take time. He definitely had chances to close out the match today but wasn't able to capitalise.

He never was. Down to #3 before his injury and his last match Murray he got drubbed 6-0 in the third set.
But this result means little for Nadal. It's his first tournament back. He won't be losing to these sort of players come Monte Carlo or Roland Garros.
I meant on clay.
This win might have a positive mentality on other players, to give them the confidence they could actually beat Nadal.

Tards will read too much into this loss no doubt by that I don't mean laundry but there are certain fans both in Nole and Federer camp who are probably jumping up and down as I type.

Zeballos now goes to Brazil Open with Rafa. Plays a Qualifier first then Almagro. Could he record his 2nd Top 10 win on clay?

Oh, fair enough. Although Djokovic had his number before his grandfather died. Still, point stands, it's his first tournament back, it's not exactly unexpected.

I think the only predictions I've made that have actually come true were the last two Slam finals.
I give you all the points for picking Andy in 5 sets at the USO (remember what happened during after the 4th set though. The believe was no longer there when it finally came to that point. lol teasing you of course). But the AO was a bit too predictable to be honest given the history and also, Andy's match vs Federer in the semi.

Still, I was the only one on here who called Djokovic in 4.

Zeballos played a very smart match. I'll have to give him that. He didn't go toe to toe with Nadal; instead he went for his shots when he saw fit. Chardy was all over the place. Actually Chardy is not himself since his win over Del Potro at the AO.

Okay, so you get points on the scoring. I'd say even that was predictable because Nole wasn't going to beat Andy in straight sets, rest assured. Therefore, 4 sets was more than likely.
Tough customer here.

Zeballos is the first one who actually took it to Nadal and didn't let his aura wash him away. Too many players these days are beaten even before they start the match, they just don't have the belief. Unfortunately Andy doesn't quite have the aura of the other three, largely due to the number of early exits outside the Slams, with many players coming out and really going for it. Although it's certainly improved after the last six or so months.

Andy will eventually get the aura as well. He's working towards it.

I think Zebra played the way that someone has to against Rafa, and that is play like you have no respect for him even though you have loads, i guess that applies to the other top 3 also.
