Courage isn't absence of fear but mastery of it.

Won't spoil the end for you, Aileen, but Richard Mille approves of this message.
So it's one of his watches?

Maybe checking the watch will be another thing to add to his service routine, to avoid penalties - but something else will have to go!
Well the bum-tugging has eased off a bit ...

It's actually a bloody shame for him. Forced to play in a way that's not natural? It's no wonder he's developed these habits. Probably give him a little bit of control.

You should be a psychologist Elly.
Uncle Toni gives me the creeps anyway. From what I've read I think he was far too strict with Rafa when he was a child and probably intimidated him. I think I posted an interview on here some time ago which was with Rafa aged 10 after he'd just won a tournament. I didn't understand a word because it was in Spanish, but to me Rafa looked a bit cowed, and that's not the way a child of that age should be.

Watched the Acapulco Final today on replay. Really poor showing from Ferrer, he seemed agitated from the start as if he felt the pressure of being expected to give Nadal a run for his money.
Nadal defiantly is hitting the backhand flatter and harder but his forehand is still prone to the odd ball landing short (which Ferrer was woeful at taking advantage of) but all in all a good effort from Rafa.
IW should be interesting for Rafa!!

Forcing a square peg into a round hole is always going to throw up some sort of negative response. I adore Rafa the person - I just feel he's not in charge of his own life.

I watched the match on livestream and agree that Ferrer was very disappointing. I really thought he'd have put up more of a fight in the circumstances but instead he looked more like a frightened rabbit caught in a car's headlights. It seems that the Nadal aura is still alive and well. I thought Nadal played an extremely good game though - almost like his old self really - and the comms were certainly making purring noises.
The question is, of course - will he now play IW or withdraw as has been rumoured?
