Earlier I opened another thread thinking there wasn't an 'Other Player' thread with Ruthie's 'Rankings' comment included. If Nalbandian can knock out Soderling Andy stands a chance of retaining his No.4 providing he gets to the final, I believe.

Looks like Andy has a much better chance of maintaining his ranking now - Nalbandian won 4-6 6-4 6-1

I've been routing for Nalbandian and really enjoying the match but he played so well.... If Andy comes through his match with Mon Fils he really will have a battle here. I like Nalbandian immensely and admire his courage in coming back after all the operations/injuries - but not so much that I want him to beat Andy. He said he was feeling a bit tired after Washington having played 10 matches in 8 days - perhaps that will make a difference, after all Soderling did win the first set today, but the way Nalbandian picked up and fought back to win was impressive. I have to keep telling myself 'Hells Bells, it's just a tennis match, stop being a silly old woman, there will be other chances and, maybe, a drop in ranking won't hurt - just give Andy a bit more momentum in the months to come.'
