y is it that seeds constantly lose these days. Murray only played 2 seeds his last tourney, the ground was littered with them at the aussie open... what is it with some of these guys and bad form right off the bat?

Do you think that this might signal a change in tennis style. No longer are the big servers/hitters having it all their own way. Players like Andy who plays very intellegently and is know as a 'counter-puncher' are perhaps changing the way the game has been played over the past few years.

Pressure I think it is, the reason all of them are dropping is because people expect too much from them, eg. if a seeded player was playing a wildcard the wildcard will have nothing to lose but the seeded player will if you get what I mean.

yea but if your a top 20 player u should be able to expose the nothing to lose mentality for what it is... carelessness. all you have to do is place well and keep the rallies going. they might go for too much. thats how percentage players win... they win matches with 0 winners and 2 unforced

Hang on - there's no logic to this argument. Seeds are seeds because they're higher up in the world rankings than non-seeds. And that's taking everything into account - first-round losses, injuries, tournament pullouts. If they do badly, then some of those lower-ranked guys they've been losing to become seeds instead. So it makes little sense to say 'seeds are always losing all the time these days'.
Hope I explained that OK.

That actually makes a lot of sence there Grabcopy
The only thing you could take into account is top seeds having a bad year or something, Roddick another one of my favs seems to be going slightly downhill

I sense a change in the world game. Roddick's a bit of a one-dimensional bully with his powerhouse, no-brain hitting. There's a slight shift towards guys like Andy (and Fed) who use a bit of guile and brain. I can see Roddick disappearing over the horizon soon.

I think Roddick will come storming back at wimbledon, only for goat herder Fed to beat him again.

I really think Roddick will make a come back, for him the pressure is off here, that is why he hasn't really done well in the US Open since winning in 03, much like british guys here at wimbledon, he has too much pressure riding on his shoulders there. His best surface right now is grass, I think if federer goes home with the goats, then roddick will win.

Federer should never have left the goats. Surely he can't win Wimbledon again

He really shouldn't. I wonder...
Maybe if we went on a secret mission and killed all the goats, then Federer the goat hurder, would be too distraught to play.

I don't think Roddick is just going to fade away because he's still a good player, but I do have to say he's very one-dimensional.

Well he's working on it. He is practising his net game, his backhand has improved loads since previous years.
So it's not like he doesn't realise he has to up his game.

And we'd have to kill sheep as well because he looks quite friendly with them

We must also consider the fact that these days we have quite a few specialist clay courters who are often pretty pathetic on other surfaces.
