Can't understand the Soderling love- in, either
Loved it when Andy slaughtered him at the WTF

Marinko Matosevic will overtake Tomic when the next ATP rankings are released.

That might give him a kick up the backside... but it's too bad he didn't take Darren Cahill's advice and go for Rasheed as his coach.. because Tsonga has pipped him at the post:

Interesting and not unexpected Linda but surely rasheed never coached Andy did he? I remember he was in the frame last year when Andy didn't have a coach but I'm sure that's all.

Not sure what you mean, Ruthie.
This has nothing to do with Andy.
(btw.. You are correct, Rasheed's name was bandied about for a while before Lendl, but nothing official.)

I watched Soderling on the practice court at the WTF two years ago. Quite honestly he acted like a spoilt brat, swearing, breaking racquets and being generally obnoxious. His coach, Magnus Norman, walked off the court in disgust - not surprising that not long after that they parted company. I didn't care much for Soderling before I witnessed that performance and it just confirmed my opinion of him. Having said that it was very hard lines that Mono hit him when it did - i wouldn't wish that on any player.

I really miss Robin Soderling, a Slam contender imho. It's a real shame to see he's no longer on the ATP rankings.
Who knows what the lay of the land might be right now if he hadn't been struck down with mono, and the consequent complications. Hope he gets back.
Meanwhile, he and his wife Jenni had a baby girl this week
Soderling actually looks rather nice here.

I'm not a fan of Soderling's style of play - saw him at the AO at the Hisense Arena. Wouldn't wish an illness on anyone though and glad that he's finding something positive in spite of this illness atm.

I have a very soft spot for Robin.
I miss his complete disregard for bullsh*t, and just getting on with the game...a game he played exceedingly well, up until his illness.
Like him or not, I believe he has been a great loss.
And when his wife, Jenni, takes a candid pic of him and tweets something like this.. well..

That's funny and weird, Ruthie. Doesn't say anything about Andy on mine, maybe got lost in the translation.

Yes half watching the match and will go back to watch properly now.
btw has anyone else noticed the resemblance between delpo and Paul Ryan, the scaringly right-wing VP candidate in US?

Del Potro won the first set 6-4, and just saved a break point to hold for 1-1 in the 2nd.
