Ivo Karlovic has had a mild brain stroke.According to his facebook he was released from hospital and got sick again. He's now in hospital in Miami. The poor guy! Frown

Blimey. I wonder what has caused that? It sounds like he's had a mini-stroke, which can happen. I'm sure his doctors will be looking at causes, but he is young for that sort of problem. They usually aren't too bad in themselves, but obviously they will wànt to find out why. It could make him more susceptible to something much bigger down the line.

The latest (according to Ben Rothenberg anyway) is that it actually wasn't on his official facebook page, but a fan one.Apparently it's all over the Croatian media though.

The poor man.I hope he makes a full recovery.

Still scary, but not as scary as possible stroke.
Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Interesting to see that Ferrer has taken a WC in Portugal after going out so early in Barcelona.  There are quite a few people playing there who I hope Andy avoids in Madrid as they will have had an extra week of clay match experience.

Nadal to play Basel. Federer also playing, whilst Andy has signed up last two years and Djokovic occasionally plays there. Interesting.

On twitter there is a photo of Judy and Andy filming for Set4Sports today, so all those who were complaining that Andy wasn't playing this week.He has commitments that he has to meet and not a lot of spare space to fit it in. RBS who are his sponsor expect him to do some work with Judy on Set4Sports.
Andy is very generous with his time and for that we can be thankful. He won't have long at home before he flies out to Madrid, so I hope he has time to relax with Kim and his dogs.

Interesting that he's chosen to play Basel that week and not Valencia - I'm guessing the appearance fee must have been very attractive. The tournament must have a lot of money to be able to afford Federer and Nadal (and Del Potro).

Maybe they can afford it now that Fed will be playing without a contract, and out of the love for his fans and for Basel. Whistle

Not a clue. I assume he hasn't made last year's mistake and sign up immediately after withdrawing from the previous year. Not impossible that all of the big 4 could be playing Basel this year. Did Djokovic play it last year?

^ Nole didn't play there last year.

If Andy does enter, I hope he manages to play this year because he's pulled out the past 2 years. Remember last year they had that whole Brit Day thing organised?
