Tim reckons that JJ is the player that Andy needs to be weary of,of all of the players left in Andy's half of the draw. He goes on to say that JJ maybe the most likely player to cause an upset and beat Andy if they were to meet, and have to play each other. Or words to that effect.

I agree. I fully expect an Andy-JJ semi and for it to be close.

Would much prefer that match up.

In fact, JJ has surprised me this tournament. I scoffed at his Bercy run, with all the tanking that went on. But he's clearly 'got game', as they say, and not just a serve.

Paire is a talented shotmaker, if he is on game and pumped up/focused, don't be surprised if he takes a set.

It's ok for him to take a set. Just so long as that's all. And yes I agree with you Paire is a good player.

Off Janowicz?

Off Janowicz?

He has beaten Janowicz on the Pole's favourite surface. Paire prefers grass more than Janowicz, don't write him out of that match.

This is such a good read. An Irish pro talks about the trials and tribulations of being a sub-journeyman on the tennis tour:

An excellent blog Nigel - and quite an eye-opener as well.  It's amazing what some people are willing to put themselves through in order to do something they really want to do.  I wonder too how many people realise that top-class players don't just simply 'arrive' there but that they too have to start at the bottom and work their way up, or how much dedication, self-sacrifice and hard work they have to put in as well.

I hope James does get the sponsorship he deserves.

I'd also like a certain Mr Salmond to read the blog and tell us how he thinks tennis would fare in an independent Scotland, should that ever come to pass!

I have a feeling, although I don't know why, that Melzer could beat JJ.

Stop worrying about JJ, firstly it's a potential match only, secondly Andy has beaten players of far higher calibre than JJ at Wimbledon, he may cause Andy a few problems but the match would take place in the semis of a grand slam, a position that Andy has had much more experience with, add a partisan crowd to the mix and I would say that Janowicz would have to play the game of his life just to keep up with Andy.

Andy has good records against big serving giants, he beats Isner in slams with no fuss, same with Raonic.

What's what?  I see absolutely nothing unusual or weird in what Djoko is doing.  As somebody who practised TM for many years, I know that anything that can bring peace and harmony to the inner Self has to be worth while.
