Laura & Ross at the Olympic parade in London. A bit blurry as done from a bit of a distance on full zoom

But before that I was so close to the parade that my pictures aren't that great - a good view of Olympic nostrils!
Here's Ross though, Laura was over the other side. It was a great day!

Thanks for the pics, Elena. Must have been a great atmosphere.
Indeed it was. I picked my spot quite early, and it was fun watching the crowds build up, with some great outfits, people on balconies and hanging out of windows. Some very cheerful Games Makers tried organising mexican waves along the road, and the occasional cyclist got cheered and high-fived along the way. Then fabulous to see so many of those I'd watched on the TV up so close, and clearly quite moved by the reception they were getting.
It was a fantastic atamosphere in London throughout the Olympics. Everyone was so cheerful and friendly, with Games Makers all over the place to help people find their way around, and traffic flowing better than usual.

Thanks for the fascinating pictures.
Interesting that anyone can go on the parade regardless of whether they have won a medal or not. I wonder who is the guy to the left of Laura. Which competition did he win his medal in ?

The parade was for any athlete that took part I think, and there were about 20 buses. They were in alphabetical order - so there were some strange mixtures. Divers were nowhere near the swimmers, canoeists way ahead of the sailors! This bus was table tennis, taekwondo and tennis. Ross and Laura were the only ones I recognised (I hadn't watched those other sports), though I couldn't see who was on the other side of the bus very well. I don't think Jamie was there.
Could it be Ross's dad (Tennis team leader) next to Laura? I think the purple ribbon is his ID, not a medal.
I did get very close-up pics of quite a lot of other athletes (Jessica Ennis, Jonnie Peacock, Nicola Adams, Sarah Storey, Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton, Tom Daley, Ellie Simmonds, Alaistair Browning and more), but some of them are dark shapes against a grey sky!
